Prepare for fun and sea sickness. Sunset on the water is overkill, but folks can disagree.

If you get a chance to do a sea excursion, we highly recommend Sailing in Santorini Yacht club. Our hotel booked us a reservation (Andronis Luxury Suites) and it was one of the best things we did while on the island. The crew is all super friendly and accommodating and they provide transfer from your hotel to the dock. You’ll be on a boat for about 5 hours. They take you to three swimming spots. 1. The hot springs by the volcano in the caldera (don’t let the name fool you, it’s NOT hot) 2. The red beach. You don’t go on the beach but you can swim in the area. 3. The white beach. This isn’t an actual beach, but you get to swim around anyways. At the third spot you’ll have a terrific grilled lunch with pasta which was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. Throughout the trip it’s all you can drink beer, local wines, and soft drinks. Others have posted they got seasick but this all depends on the day you go and the wind. Our day was less windy so we didn’t have much of a problem, and we also don’t get sea sick. If you are prone to getting seasick, don’t blame them as they drive very slowly to avoid this. Again, this was one of the absolute best things we did in Santorini and we highly recommend this for the views, the swimming and the good time.
