Ι	ΙΩΑΝΝΗΣ ΒΑΡΑΛΗΣ on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ο Ιερός του Αγίου Γεωργίου Βόλου κτίστηκε τα έτη 1957 έως 1959, πάνω στα ερείπια παλαιοτέρου Ναού που η ανοικοδόμησή του εικάζετε στις αρχές του 20ου αιώνα περί τα έτη 1907-1908 με την σύσταση του Χωριού από τον οποίο πήρε και το όνομά του. Από τον παλαιό επιβλητικό Ναό σώζονται μόνο δυο φωτογραφίες της εποχής που καταδεικνύουν ότι ο Ναός ήταν Σταυροειδείς με τρούλο και στην μπροστινή του όψη δέσποζαν δυο Καμπαναριά. Ο Παλαιός Ναός υπέστη πολλές ζημιές με τους σεισμούς του 1955 που έπληξαν τον Βόλο και την γύρω περιοχή. Έτσι προσωρινά οι λατρευτικές ανάγκες του χωριού καλύφθηκαν από το παράπηγμα που έγινε δίπλα στο Ναό και που ήταν αφιερωμένο στον Άγιο Φανούριο, το 1957 θεμελιώθηκε ο νέος Ναός και στις 13 Νοεμβρίου 1960 εγκαινιάστηκε από τον μακαριστό Μητροπολίτη Δημητριάδος κυρό Δαμασκηνό. Ο νέος Ναός είναι αρχιτεκτονικό πόνημα του Αρχιτέκτονα Μηχανικού κ. Γεωργίου Πολυκάρπου και κτίστηκε με την συνδρομή των ενοριτών και τις φιλότιμες προσπάθιες του τότε εφημερίου π. Στεφάνου Σπύρου και των συνεργατών του επιτρόπων. Είναι Τρίκλιτη Βασιλική δομική άνευ τρούλου και στην αριστερή μπροστινή πλευρά του δεσπόζει το καμπαναριό. Το εσωτερικό του ναού είναι Αγιογραφημένο ως ένα σημείο του, με Αγιογραφίες του Αγιογράφου της Περιοχής μας κ. Ζαχαρία Καραφέρια. Το τέμπλο του είναι ξυλόγλυπτο με μεγάλες ολόσωμες εικόνες έργο της αδελφότητος των Θεοφαναίων Πατέρων από τα Καυσοκαλύβια του Αγίου όρους που όμως κατάγονται από τις Πινακάτες Πηλίου, η οποίες χρονολογούνται από το 1908 και που υπήρχανε στον παλαιό Ναό. Η ενορία του Αγίου Γεωργίου διαθέτει και τρία παρεκκλήσια Α) του Αγίου Φανουρίου κάτωθεν του προαυλίου του Ιερού Ναού Β) του Αγίου Δημητρίου στην θέση «Ανωμαλιά» Ανακασιάς Γ) των Αγίων Αποστόλων στο Κοιμητήριο της Ενορίας The Sanctuary of Agios Georgios Volos was built in the years 1957 to 1959, on the ruins of an older Temple, the reconstruction of which you speculate at the beginning of the 20th century around the years 1907-1908 with the establishment of the Village from which it took its name. Only two photographs of the time survive from the old imposing Temple, which show that the Temple was cruciform with a dome and two Campania dominated its front. The Old Temple was badly damaged by the 1955 earthquakes that hit Volos and the surrounding area. Thus, the worship needs of the village were temporarily covered by the parapet that took place next to the Temple and that was dedicated to Agios Fanourios, in 1957 the new Temple was founded and on November 13, 1960 it was inaugurated by the Blessed Metropolitan of Demitriados Mr. Damaskinos. The new church is an architectural work of the Architect-Engineer Mr. Georgios Polykarpos and was built with the help of the parishioners and the ambitious efforts of the then pastor Fr. Stefanos Spyros and his associates. It is a three-aisled royal structure without a dome and on its left front side dominates the bell tower. The interior of the church is hagiographed as a point of it, with Hagiographies of the Hagiographer of our Area Mr. Zacharias Karaferia. Its iconostasis is wood-carved with large full-length icons, the work of the fraternity of the Theophanic Fathers from the Kausokalyvia of Mount Athos, but they originate from the Pinakates of Pelion, which date from 1908 and existed in the old Temple. The parish of Agios Georgios also has three chapels A) of Agios Fanourios below the courtyard of the Holy Temple B) of Agios Dimitrios in the place "Anomalia" of Anakasia C) of the Holy Apostles in the Cemetery of the Parish
