★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Greek Orthodox church on a beautiful hill in Lavrion area. The construction of the church in Lavrion begun in 1965 by Father Vassileios Vitalis. Father Vassileios had visited the holy church of Saint Nektarios in Aegina island back in 1948, when he was only 17 years old and claimed to have see the Saint who revealed to the young man that he would become a priest and change his name to Nektarios. Father Nektarios Vitalis managed to finish the construction of the church in Lavrion in the 1980's after claiming to have seen Saint Nektrarios, who curred the cancer that Father Nektarios had. This mirracle helped the fundraising and the completion of the church.
Saint Nektarios (1846 – 1920) is a new and very popular saint of the Orthodox Christian Church, whose memory is commemorated on November 9.
