Very nice little church with panorama of the Temple of Neptune but it has very bad access. Dirt road but damn !!

Amazing location under the Temple of Sounio ... The mantra of St. Petrou has been made with ancient materials

Fantastic location the monastery, but the surrounding area miserable and neglected

Very peaceful and uncrowded beach, very clean sea, an absolutely perfect place to seek peace of mind.

My great-great grandad built it and my grandmother keeps it up. We can't always keep it open but it's definitely always running a service on 14th August for the eve of the ascention of the theotokos, so please do pop by, if you're there in the morning, with the locals!

we went to the small beach below the church , its full of rocks so not ideal for families and young children, but the view is majestic because you can see the Poseidon temple of Sounion.

This is an extremely remote location with extremely difficult beach access. As far as I can tell, those who visit are typically there to pay respects to the little church and not to swim. There were no posted signs however, indicating swimming was not allowed, and since the beach looked awesome we decided to go for a swim. The only way to get down to the beach was a very narrow path, 2 feet or so, that started at 60 feet up and slowly scaled down the side of a cliff to the beach, or some extremely steep and narrow steps that dropped down to the beach. We chose the less scary option, the narrow path. We got there at around 2 pm, left at 6 pm, and did not see anyone else the whole time. Definitely a remote location. As remote as it was, it still had a full view of the Poseidon temple in Sounion, about a mile away, as the crow flies. The water was pristine, clean and beautiful and the water temp was just perfect.
