If you like walking and the outdoors this is a must do. Great views and lively village with good choice of tavernas at the end. You are best coming on a tour as it is a long drive and the walk is recommended as a one way trip with a boat along to a village with road access. It would be very strenuous as a return trip. Be warned this is a proper hike on uneven path, you need decent footwear, the tour operators should be more explicit but I guess they want to sell tickets. Some people only had flip flops, they did not have a good day.

Very beautiful hike! Definitely worth it. As recommended by others: - go as early as possible - have good walking shoes - buy bus and boat ticket in advance on the websites The waiting in the village after the hike is quite long so be prepared to wait until 17:30. That's the first time the boat will go back (and around 11;30 am, but that's too fast for most people)

Beautiful spot and a good easy downhill start to the hike along the gorge. The gorge is doable for anyone with decent general fitness but you may feel it in the legs for a few days. The gorge is 16k to the park entrance and just over 18 to the sea. If going at a good pace you can do it in 3.5 hours but to be honest better to take your time especially if you are doing the hike as part of a tour group as you will have hours to kill at the beach until the boat comes to drop you to the buses. Best advice take your time and enjoy. Pack lunch and plenty of water. Light jacket if starting early from the trailhead as it is chilly until you get down to the gorge itself. I don't think it needs to be said but decent shoes / runners.

An incredible walk with amazing views. It is 18.5km in total & took us around 5 hours. The ferry at the end worked really well too.

Visited here organised trip through hotel early start and long fay 14.5 hours but well worth it amazing views busy at the start wirh lots of visitors but once foujd own pace and first few kms are hardest due to steep decline and rocky path then this grt easier and more enjoyable! Make sure take snacks and drinks with then finish there are restaurants to relax but beach and ice cream was what we decided to do before relaxing boat trip back and coach to our hotel.

We came here mid January to enjoy "winter wonderland" experience. Place is beautiful, but it can be difficult to get to in periods like this, due to ice on the road. If you are coming here in spring/summer time it's gonna be nothing like this. Also hike is obviously closed until everything melts down hah ;)

The gorge is amazing and very beautiful. The hike from the starting point to the end of the gorge took us about 6 hours. We made short breaks often and I would recommend to do so as well. It is very strenuous and you need to be in good shape. We are passionate hikers but this hike was exhausting even for us. Plan the day after the hike for rest. We took the anendyk ferry from the end of the gorge (agia roumeli) to sougia (11€ per person) at 17:30 which took about 40 minutes. We bought the ferry tickets at the small anendyk shop in agia roumeli. After the ferry arrived in sougia we took the bus to the starting point of the gorge (5€ per person) which took about 1 hour and 15 minutes. We bought bus tickets at the small shop at the starting point of the gorge. A few tips: - do not buy the boat ticket at the shop at the starting point of the gorge! They don't sell tickets for the main ferry, but a rather a small boat which is at the far end of the beach in agia roumeli. Many people did not know that and wanted to go on the anendyk ferry where they were told they got the wrong ticket. They tried to run to the other boat to catch it but many missed it. - buy the bus tickets in advance. Don't worry there are lots of buses in sougia which will wait for the ferry to arrive before leaving. You can also take one of the smaller taxi buses to the starting point (10€ per person). - make sure to take the right ferry and bus as there are multiple destinations for the way back. We asked the bus drivers if it was the right bus to be on the safe side. - our bus did not allow to take our bag inside. We had to put them in a tray under the bus. So take all your valuables with you. - put on good quality hiking shoes. You have to walk across some small rivers and large rocks. - bring sunscreen with you and reapply regularly. There is some shadow, but the gorge is mostly in the sun. - bring enough water and food with you as there are no shops during the hike. - there are small water stations where you can refill your water or refresh yourself. - there are toilets every few km but they are squat toilets. So it may be a bit unusual. Bring paper with you, it may be empty there! - at the end of the hike there are small buses that can bring you to the town agia roumeli for 2€ per person. Take these if you are too tired then. Otherwise you have to walk like 30 minutes again. Enjoy your hike!

Gorgeous hike. A must do. But you should plan for the hike accordingly. The trail is all downhill (1200m decent) and mostly rocky. There are lots of water refill stations and bathrooms along the way, so you don’t need to bring lots of water. It’s popular, thus crowded. Come early to avoid crowds and heat. The trail is 16km plus 2km to get to the ferry. Ferry will take you to the town of Sougia. From there you can take a bus back to a parking lot/hotel.
