This is an average 4* hotel, not a 5*. The breakfast is very poor. Very little variety. The food is cold and not fresh because it’s been sat out for too long. There’s no egg station for fresh eggs. The service is very slow - you have to order tea/coffee and juices and it takes ~10 minutes to arrive. Staff are also not very friendly and there is no option to have breakfast in your room. The minibar is not stocked automatically and you can instead buy a ‘minibar package’, but this comes with lots of items you would not usually have from the minibar and have to prepay for. The images on Booking.com are a bit misleading. We stayed in the Deluxe Sea View suite and the view was nothing like on the photos (there are lots of huge pylons obstructing the view!). Also note this hotel does not face Oia or the caldera so the views are quite disappointing in general. On the positive side, the porters who drive the golf buggies are all very friendly. It would be great to see the same service in the restaurants!

Santo Maris is a beautiful property away from the crowds of the Caldera. The setting is quiet, peaceful, and idyllic, with amazing sunset views. Unfortunately, we had to cut our stay there short; however, Christos, Antigoni, Thomas, Vassilis, and the rest of the team were amazing in helping us. The team there is helpful, kind and overall great. Also - Alios Ilios (hôtel restaurant) is terrific. Just a heads up though, this hotel is on the non-caldera side (pro: much, much less touristic and a lot more private , con: a little more quiet). That said, you can walk to the Caldera in less than 5 minutes - and 10 if you are strolling. I recommend the Santo Maris - and the amazing team there led by Christos.

Our stay with Santo Maris was nothing short of special. We came to Santorini for our honeymoon and the team at Santo Maris ensured it was special. The team at the front were very welcoming and throughout the staff would always greet you. The facilities are amazing and we'd highly recommend a treatment at the spa. The sunset suites have an exceptional view of the sunset and is very much worth paying the money for A nice touch was the changes to the breakfast everyday and all the food tasted so fresh Without a doubt Santo Maris was the best hotel we've stayed at. Thank you to you team at Sant Maris! :)

Absolutely incredible! The photos don't do justice for just how beautiful and special Santo Maris Oia is. We stayed for 4-days during our honeymoon and everything was absolutely beyond perfect. The grounds, the staff, the room, the food and drinks are all 10/10 and beyond 5-stars. There's a reason this is such a high rated property. The best thing about the resort is that there is a lit walkway path that takes you right up to Oia. It's a short 5-min walk, but it is uphill, so you'll likely break a sweat by the time you get up there. But location wise, you cannot beat it! The only thing that left something to be desired was the massage and facial from the spa. I didn't get a tour of the spa facilities before my session, I wasn't offered water, a locker, a robe, etc. Also, my nose wasn't touched during my facial (odd?) and when booking, the team was pretty salesy on pushing products to purchase, which made it a bit uncomfortable and unrelaxing. I'll skip the spa next time I visit. Overall though, we would absolutely stay here again and will return for a future anniversary! Thank you so much for making us feel so welcome, everyone!

3/5 stars as the hotel is beautiful, terrific staff on the exterior - food/bell hop/gatesman/pool attendant. But temper expectations with service desk, management, and the entire hotel stay felt as if everything was a la carte, nickel and diming with every little thing. To start with the good… The grounds and hotel as a whole are beautiful. Aesthetics 10/10 and well maintained. The location was also excellent because it was away from the crowds in Oia but just a short 10 minute walk there. Service was top notch. Our dinner server from Albania was superb, the matrie d of the restaurant was excellent himself and has a great atmosphere and environment he has created with his entire team. The food was really good. Breakfast had a nice selection of items, quality food and fresh. As one previous guest mentioned, the coffee does come out luke warm which I requested it hotter and true to form they took care of it. Lastly, the restaurant onsite at Alios Ilios was a treat. Reasonably priced for a top tier restaurant - the mushroom risotto starter and the fish/lemon starter were some of the best appetizers I’ve ever had. The “treasure chest” of bread was next level, dinner & desert were on par but not quite to the level of the starters. Bravo to the chef and team. Now, the not so great, especially for a 5* hotel: Upon arrival, they showed us to our room, brief tour, mentioned that we should not drink the water as it is not potable; and therefore they will supply us with waters as needed and upon request. The following day we ran out of the 4 waters they place in your room (2 in the am, 2 again at pm) and requested more. They told us that they would provide waters, but we would be charged for each…. Somewhat understandable but as with anything else in life, problems should be met with solutions such as a water re-fill station etc. None on the premises. Later that night, after signing the waiver to increase the heat for the jacuzzi, we got in the tub and it was still not a “hot” tub. Temperature was Probably 85f/30c and we were hoping for hotter. Next, laundry service. We called in a request at 11:30am to have them do our laundry service and mentioned we would be checking out the following day at 11 so obviously would need the clothes by that time. They told us that we could pay an additional 45€ if we wanted to ensure it would be done by then or they could not guarantee it be done…. That’s 23.5 hrs to do one load of laundry but couldn’t perform. At a 5* resort you would imagine general accommodations would be included and then additional luxury accommodations would be an additional cost (ie: massages, tours etc). I’ve stayed at many hotels where the steam room and sauna are included, let alone a 5* resort in which they charge 1€/minute for use in 30min blocks. Shuttle/taxi Service Service was provided one-way from the airport to the hotel upon arrival. So when it was time to check out we figured that we would have a return service as well, but think again. We tipped our driver and then he informed us we needed to pay 50€ for the car service as well. We will get you here but charge you to leave is kind of how the whole trip felt. There was also confusion over the bill when it came time for check out. We booked this trip 3 years ago, and they issued us a voucher (would not allow us to have our money back using covid). It seemed as though we were charged the full amount without mention or use of our voucher, and we had a long back and forth trying to gain clarity. We had to leave so we wouldn’t be late for our ferry, so that is still an ongoing scenario. All in all, we recommend the hotel as a whole, a lot of great qualities, amenities and staff. However we feel there is room for improvement to fulfill expectations as a 5* resort.

The staff members at this hotel were excellent and very friendly. The room was amazing, the breakfast was amazing, and the spa was amazing (great massage). It felt like we were on a honeymoon!

This was one of the most relaxing trips , from the collection at the airport to the amazing welcome from staff at the hotel. The accommodation and attention to detail is off the scale. The food for breakfast and we did have a diner in the restaurant on our first night were exceptional. The staff with their warm friendly greetings are genuine and all appear to be happy even though working. As a couple celebrating their 36th wedding anniversary and having travelled extensively i cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and we don't say this very often as too many places in the world to visit but we may well go back!!!! 10 minute walk into town either via a track (well maintained) or via road so very convenient.

Stayed for 4 nights and thought this place was really cool. They have managed to keep it low key with a real luxury vibe. Staff are so helpful and insightful, nothing too much trouble. The hotel itself is beautiful, pools perfect and things like restaurants and gym are really well thought out and add to the experience. The hotel has a ‘quick’ private pathway up to Oia which is a really good idea and makes getting out and exploring really easy and worthwhile. The suites are excellent, private and always close to everything you need, the service to them is quick and subtle as well. I think they get the balance right around the main pool during the day; cool music etc and a chilled atmosphere - if you want something quieter there are 4 other pools to choose from! Mention to all staff - these places are made by the staff and the guys here fully deserve all 5 stars, thanks for having us!…
