I really don't have enough words to express what an enjoyable time we had staying at the Boutari winery. The residences are converted from the original farm house and winery of the property. Our room was partly the original wine cellar! The room was huge and we'll appointed, however, the 2 things that make it stand out are the scenery and the people. You are quite literally in the vineyard among the vines. Citrus and flowering plants surrounded the courtyard where a custom, homemade breakfast was served to us every morning. The food was grown onsite or locally and was to die for. The semi-private wine tour was nice and the bottle of wine at check in plus tastings later we're welcome. Maria, George and the others who hosted us were beyond friendly, spoke perfect English and seemed genuinely to enjoy their jobs. The winery itself is new and modern and would be an impressive spece for events. Fair warning, the grapes are only 3 years old so don't expect too much but there is definitely potential for fine wine here given time and investment. Overall, I would stay here again in a heartbeat and highly, highy recommend it to anyone staying in the Heraklion region.

This is like family! We had a cooking class with the lovely cook of the winery Boutari. It was so much fun that the time passed too fast. We cooked traditional creek dishes with the fruits and vegetabels of the house garden. It was no problem that our creek is very very bad. We spoked "cooking" language. It was a completely new insight to work in the kitchen together with a stranger in holidays. The result were stuffed vine leaves and zucchini blooms, zucchini balls, dakos and moussaka. For dessert we had sweet cream cheesecake. All these dishes were prepared together. After this we had a look to the winery with a guide and a wine tasting. The wines are delicious and they tastes like the cretan climate. At last we got our home-cooked food for dinner and they were incredible. We want to come back as soon as possible.

Beautiful winery just outside of Heraklion. Very close to Palace of Knossos if that is on your list to visit. Sunrise and sunset are absolutely gorgeous. Also, the restaurants close by are excellent. Definitely recommend if you are looking for peace and quiet with excellent service. Breakfast is included and top notch!

Away from the touristic part of Heraklion. Secluded and very private lodging in the middle of a winery. Xrisa took great care of my husband and I. The room we stayed in, Kotsifali, was very spacious and luxurious. I love that there were 2 toilets. The bed was as big as our king bed at home and almost as comfortable, which says a whole lot.? the scenery was breathtaking. And the clean and pure air was such a bonus. Would definitely recommend this place.

Amazing place to stay with your significant other. We stayed her on our way to Santorini. I wish we would have stayed for more nights. Staff are amazing, they will go above and beyond to make sure you are okay. The Breakfast is local and the most delicious you can have try in Greece. Wine tasting was very good. Highly recommended.

Very nice, small place to stay in close proximity to Knossos, Archanes, Heraklion. It's very clean, hosts are very kind and the place has a lot of charme. What stands out is the bathroom, that is very well designed as well as the very comfortable bed. One thing to notice: There is no restaurant at the place and it's not a hotel in a traditional sense - it feels more like a B&B.

Off the beaten track, this was a pleasant stop-over for a couple of nights. Pretty much in the middle of nowhere, the room was clean and fresh, with a huge bathroom area. Wifi was a little off and struggled the first night getting a decent signal. Also the power tripped and couldn’t get the ac working until we found the fuse box which took some time to find as I mistook it for a piece of contemporary art ? Wouldnt want to stay more than a few days as there isn’t much to do around the area and it’s purely accommodation (no food/restaurant onsite).

Would have stayed here longer if they weren't booked! Lovely staff, beautiful setting and wine tasting at your door step. Nicely designed rooms and breakfast delivered to you.
