One of the best home cooked meals I had in an island and especially Cythera! Family business that is worth visiting. If you are there during August make sure you call a couple of days in advance.

Most authentic cuisine and great service. Location is beautiful, amidst nature and with great parking space. Would recommend giant beans 100%.

Don't get me wrong, some of the food were really good. It is a great place for a large party and I loved the outdoor seating amidst the trees with a view of the acreage-like garden. The service was slow, one server for the entire place of large tables, long wait for our orders to be taken, and a long wait for the dishes, but once they started coming out they came along quickly. The dishes were done well but not as good as the other places we went to on the island. The slow roasted pork and greek potatoes were good but not great, I would have preferred the rosemary cooked in the pot, not added fresh as it imparted no flavour. The stewed okras were almost perfect, just a bit too tangy. The tomatoey beef and fried potatoes were delicious, just perfect. Beets fresh and earthy, very simple. The boiled greens were simply boiled, which was fine. The bread and feta were delicious! The trahana was ok but the roasted eggplants in the dish was awesome -Trahana is an ancient food made with either semolina, wheat flour, bulgur or cracked wheat. Milk, buttermilk, or yogurt are mixed into the flour or wheat to form a thick mass.Once the ingredients have been combined, they are broken into chunks, dried, and then broken up into granules. Overall, a bit expensive for the norm in Greece during the off season. The menu was hit and miss, the service underwhelming. I would give this place another try next time I am there.

Love this place!! Really excellent food served on a beautiful covered patio. We didn't look at the menu but instead ordered what our lovely hosts suggested. Open from 1-6pm in October and they stay open all year. We called ahead for Sunday lunch as it's very popular with locals, and rightly so. The prices are so resonable, service is very friendly and the food is delicious!! They serve fresh local produce including a really delightfully unusual local red wine by the carafe.

An excellent garden restaurant in a country setting featuring traditional Greek cuisine, short walk to one beach and 10' walk to another secluded beach. Service was first rate with strong language skills. The eggplant was to die for.

We drove all the way from Livadi for dinner and didn't regret it all. Spacious parking in the property. Big terrace and garden with tables far from each other, kind of private. Plants, trees, aloe everywhere. Friendly, easy going, smiling service from young girl and 2 guys, they knew the whole menu very well for vegeterians, vegans etc. Most of products are theirs!! Food was excellent. came fast, fair prices, spotless place. We had the chance to meet the owner, Mrs. Evanthia, a smiling, positive lady who lived for years in Australia , came back to her island and made SKANDEIA. A big plus the toilets, super clean, nice tiles all around, congratulations!! Def worth a visit or more, you will have a great great meal.

Here you will find the good heart of the people and the definition of hospitality offered by Evanthia, Antonis, Stefanos and their whole team, in an incomparable natural landscape. All the good ones are served with raw materials from the fruitful land of Paipolis with taste and with unique flavors! Whoever is in Kythira and does not visit Skandia, will lose!

Plenty of parking and a huge porch for outdoor seating. The food was good and the service also good, and the location between avlemonas and kaladi beaches is great
