Το λιμάνι του νησιού, το Μερσίνι θεωρείται από τα καλύτερα καταφύγια μικρών σκαφών σε όλο το Αιγαίο. Schinoussa owes its name to the bushy rope plant that thrives all over the island. However, there is another version according to which the island was named after the Venetian lord Schinoza. The island's port, Mersini, is considered one of the best small boat shelters in the entire Aegean.

M	Marcello Battaglia on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I decided to berth here because I never visited this island before. Of course the place it self is beautiful enough... But not particularly appreciated. Vice versa the bay is not completely sheltered and the boat is always reacting because of the never ended small waves. In the second half of the afternoon, a woman come and ask for the payment of the port... And, if you stay long side berthing, she asks a double fee. What to say?... I came, I saw... It's enough.
