★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fascinating small museum that has working models of ancient inventions. Although small I could spend 2 hours here. Imagine a 7 hour alarm clock that works on water and singing birds wake you up. Wonderful

What a great surprise to discover this new Museum on the Island of Skiathos! It is in the middle of the old town close to a quiet place under trees with a drinkwater fountain. You can find in the two rooms of the Museum astonishing inventions by the Greeks made more than 2000 years ago. Construction, theatre, daily life, games, even a robot ... all very interesting wooden and brass objects (some you find in the small shop, we bought a fascinating secret message system)!
We saw simple ways to lift a stone with 50 kg, catapults and also a winecup that empties itself if you fill it over the limit.
Brillant are the short films that explain the objects.
In total: A wonderful Museum - with lovely and well-informed people - to visit for an hour and learn in a playful way about inventions that changed the world.
