Das einzige bewohnte Kloster auf Skiathos wurde in den letzten Jahren renoviert und befindet sich in einem sehr guten Zustand. Es ist täglich für Besucher geöffnet und gilt als eines der wichtigsten religiösen Zentren der Sporaden. Das Kloster war einst ein Zufluchtsort für griechische Helden im Unabhängigkeitskampf des Landes und der Ort, an dem 1807 die erste blau-weiße griechische Flagge gewebt wurde. Innerhalb der Klostermauern befinden sich die Kapellen von Agios Ioannis und Agios Demetrios, sowie ein kleines kirchliches Museum. Moni Evagegelistrias The most important monastery on Skiathos is that of Panagia Moni Evangelistria. The only inhabited monastery on Skiathos has been renovated in recent years and is in very good condition. It is open to visitors every day and is considered one of the most important religious centers of the Sporades. The monastery was once a refuge for Greek heroes in the country's struggle for independence and the place where the first blue and white Greek flag was woven in 1807. Inside the monastery walls are the chapels of Agios Ioannis and Agios Demetrios, as well as a small church museum.

Si rimane incantati dalla vista mozzafiato e dalla tranquillità della natura intorno a questo monastero.. Bellissimo arte,cultura,natura!!! Mi è piaciuto un sacco. What to say ... from the center of skiathos, 3 euros are enough to get on a makeshift bus that takes you to this beautiful place .... You will be enchanted by the breathtaking view and the tranquility of nature around this monastery .. Beautiful art, culture, nature !!! I liked it a lot.

Proseguendo dopo il monastero si possono raggiungere spiagge e costoni rocciosi bellissime/i Beautiful monastery worth visiting is 10 minutes by car inside there is a dedicated place for religious souvenirs and no culinary products made by monks. Continuing after the monastery you can reach beautiful beaches and rocky ridges

К	Классный Олег on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wonderful place! Very beautiful Monastery. And a very good small shop with different Monastery goods and souvenirs. Really recommend to visit and to buy something in this small shop, especially its tasty liquor.

The place were the first flag with the white cross and the 4 blue squares around it was designed back in 19th century. But still you need to be respectful of the place, the people praying, the monks and the religion. Wear proper clothing, nothing exposing yourself and be quiet. You can visit the museum for 2 euros, which has lots of photos and items from the older years regarding religion, and also information about the Balkan wars. There's also a cafe with a nice view. Plus parking lot, toilet etc.

Here you will not only find the loom where the first Greek flag was woven but you will discover a lot of ancient scripts, bibles, and traditional orthodox priests clothing. On the upper floor you will see all these objects while on the ground floor you will get to visit the bakery and kitchen and the ancient dining room of the priests. It sure is worth a visit.
