Very friendly service and nicely cooked food.

For us Socrates Taverna remains one of the best restaurants you can find in Skala. This has been the second year we came to visit it (with a pause of 2 years between) and we were honestly afraid that after Covid we might not find the restaurant still open, as it is a family business. But what a nice surprise <3! Not only they managed to survive the crisis but their food is still absolutely amazing! The staff is really friendly, they treat you as family and even in the nights were they were fully booked they managed to serve us in a timely manner and have always a kind word to spare. About the food, is really hard to say what I liked most as we’ve had dinner there at least 4 times. Soft and tender beef and lamb, potatoes that literally melt in your mouth, salads that are not only good looking but also good tasting and the Lemon pie…let me tell you it is famous for a reason! The place is kids and pets friendly and the prices are not high for what they have to offer. If we ever decide we want another trip to Skala for us this will be for sure a place, we will come back too.

Very welcoming staff are friendly, food was amazing delicious most are homemade including dessert. ITS QUITE popular restaurant probably because the food prices and lower than the rest in the town /resort. Recommended ❤️

Elaine and Demetris treat you like family. The lamb chops were divine. They could not do enough for you. Highly recommended!

Went to re-opening night - service was excellent so friendly. Great menu with proper Greek choices. Moussaka and kleftico were superb

What a lovely restaurant everything was fresh and authentic, amazing feta and imam aubergine we’re fab. Lovely people who care about their work… it shows. The homemade geranium wine was special Thankyou definitely be back for the mousaka ???

The best Taverna on Skala. Food and service were fabulous. We tried it on the first day of our stay in Kefalonia and we're really impressed by souvlaki (tried them everywhere), Beef Stifado, calamari. After trying different places in town, on the last night we came back to Socrates for atmosphere, their attentive stuff who remembered my kids' names names, scrumptious food. Ph, they have cutest cats visitors. Highly recommend ?

Excellent Greek food with a friendly host and attentive staff. My wife had the stuffed vine leaves and I had calamari for starters and both were excellent, the Greek chicken and grilled liver we had for mains were just as good. Add to this pleasant surroundings, a complementary shot and reasonable prices.
