★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tzimis makes good souvlakia but there’s a place that’s just a little better. It’s by the outdoor market within walking distance. I think it’s called Nikita’s and they have a great souvlaki on a stick. But Tzimis has the best souvlaki on a pita/sandwich. Kalamata is lucky to have Tzimi.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice street food in Central Kalamata. Lots of locals eating there. Seating possible next to the church across from the outlet. We had their pita gyros and pita chicken and both were good. No menu in English and very little help from the guy serving it, so the solution is either pointing at the other guests' orders or spelling your way through the small menu in Greek. But the food was good and the ambiance just perfect.
