★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you want to dive into the atmosphere of genuine uncommercialized Kefalonia with its tasty cuisine, sincere people and unintrusive service, welcome to Taverna O Stathis. Lamb chops, incredible sunsets, gorgeous local wines and complete isolation from the fuss of the world (thanks Greek Gods, there is no Internet access and mobile connection here) make you feel like in paradise. While driving to Kipuria Monastery, be sure to stop here to enjoy the best Greek food ever for a reasonable price (take cash with you as the terminal is not available here).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stathis has the best tzatziki on the whole island. I like it traditional style with a LOT of garlic and they make me proud!! The lamb is their own and it's magnificent also. We also had the Greek salad, zucchini, eggplant, local sausage (amazing because it's cooked over a wood fire!). Their wine is delicious too! Overall, it's the perfect destination to get away from town and enjoy a fabulous home cooked dinner with family or even just for a date with your partner. We will definitely be back next time we visit Kefalonia.
