I've been to the place quite a few times most of them satisfied more or less. Been there with friends and our kids a couple of months ago. Five out of ten people ordered grilled steak, a skewered pork portion and grilled pork. Before the grilling the polite and helpful waiter informed us that the father - owner hasn't got whole steaks but has cut them into small bits instead. ' Is it ok with you or would you like something else ? ' We answered positively so the steaks came. Problem is that the cut was merely a steak. Various bits ( two were more expensive cuts ) four out of five were overcooked and came from a way to old animal. Chewy and impossible to cut with the - not so sharp - knife. Personally I would have returned them all but since the other couple took us there to treat us, they paid for everything and they didn't want to make a scene we said nothing.... It's a bit sad since the owner grows his own animals and vegetables and the place is mostly known for that. Sorry mate but we've eaten homegrown meat before and customers should be treated respectfully, not with the ' I'll tell you what's the best for you.... Maybe tourists would fall for it I don't know. Other than that, great location, shady place under huge trees by a tiny river and lots of space. Two stars for the previous experiences and the kind helpful waiter...

Amazing hospitality and the best meat I tried in Crete! Homemade and fresh products, this is and hidden gems that everyone should discover. I was there only to eat but they also has rooms and I bet that are really cozy, like the garden surrounded by fruits trees. Thank you was a stunning experience

I wish I could give more stars. I don't often review but this place is definitely one of the best meals I've had in a long time. The lamb chops were incredible, the salads feel so fresh because they're from their own fields. Same with the meat, it all comes from their lands and tastes like REAL food. It's by no means a fancy place, but a place you go to eat good food in a relaxed setting. Also, the service is amazing, they explained everything and were humble and friendly. Looking forward to go again soon.

Super friendly family-run place by the river with loads of space to sit under trees. It was a beer stop for us en-route from Milia to Topolia but we were given some snacks to have with the drinks and offered roasted chestnuts as we were leaving. Absolutely loving Cretian hospitality. We'll go back and sample the cooking in a few days time.

Incredibly sweet family, smiles all around, hospitality off the charts, mouth-watering dishes. Order the dakos as a starter, then move onto the roasted meats. I'd come to Crete again just to visit this family's restaurant.

Beautiful place and the owners so lovely. They make every food by themselves : Olive oil, meat of pork, lamb, chicken, dugs and goose. And cheese.... Unbelievable good! Thank you Vasili and Christina!

What can I say about this place? Simply extraordinary. Local dishes masterfully cooked. All food comes from their own production, animals included. We ate 2 days in a row and I wish I could do it more. We tried 3 different kind of lamb: antikristo, traditional (my favorite) and grilled. The taste was celestial. Eggplant salad is incredibly tasty, staka is a must eat and stuffed zucchini flowers are very good. The owner is super nice. At the end of the meal you always get some fruit and Raki. He even gave us free fruit to take home. If you want to try antikristo, make sure to call one day in advance. This place is really authentic and the atmosphere is amazing. Next time I'd even rent a room in their hotel to enjoy the whole experience.

Don’t miss this place. Wow what an experience. My favourite place on our Greece trip so far. Sat outside in their beautiful garden. All the food is grown and produced at their little farm. Food was absolutely delicious and the photos that I remembered to take probably don’t do it justice. The moussaka was the best that we tasted in Greece. When we had finished our meal the owner brought us fresh oranges from the trees, then cracked walnuts over the back of the chair for us to dip in honey. Then had us tasting fresh feta dipped in honey, home made wine and raki. Great price too. Absolutely loved it.
