 The regular tunnel adds adventure when traveling in western Crete. Before and after there are sellers of butter, honey and other alcoholic Cretan souvenirs.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ótima parada antes de atravessar o túnel. Há comércio de produtos locais como mel e azeite de oliva. Esta parada também é um Bom local para tirar fotos. A estrada é sinuosa mas não achei o caminho perigoso, basta ficar atento ás curvas. Passei por este túnel no caminho de Chania e a praia de Elafonisi. Todo o caminho é encantador. Adorei conhecer a ilha de Creta.
Great stop before crossing the tunnel. There is a trade in local products such as honey and olive oil. This stop is also a good place to take pictures. The road is winding but I didn't find the path dangerous, just be aware of the curves. I went through this tunnel on the way to Chania and Elafonisi beach. The whole way is charming. I loved visiting the island of Crete.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ מנהרה מפורסמת וייחודית שנחצבה בתחילת שנות ה 40 של המאה ה 20 כחלק מהדרך המובילה ל Elafonisi ולכפרים שבמחוז Kisamos, המנהרה ממוקמת ממש בסמוך לכפר Topolia.
המנהרה צרה מאד ומתאפשרת מעבר חד סטרי של מכוניות ואוטובוסים העוברים אך בקושי רב ובאיטיות במנהרה, ולכן ישנו רמזור המווסת את תנועת המכוניות משני הכיוונים של המנהרה.
מעבר לכך הכביש הצר והמתפתל על גדות תהום עמוקה ופעורה מעניקים חווית נהיגה יוצאת דופן ולא לבעלי לב חלש..

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After a stretch of road along the gorge running by the cliff, the road narrows down into a single lane before the tunnel, which is controlled by a signal light allowing alternating traffic only. The bus driver had to maneuver the body of the bus carefully into the tunnel, with fairly tight turns inside. It was already a thrill in the previous stretch of treacherous ride on the road by the deep gorge, but going through the tunnel appeared to present more OMG moment. At the end of the journey everyone on the bus was rewarded by the gorgeous Elafonisi pink sand beach.
