Great place with wonderful garden and big portions of delicious food. The prices are lower than in most other places we've been. It is one minute away from the beach, and the owner is very friendly and kind :)

Excellent food, always try the daily home made dish. Great service. Low prices. Very close to the highway. No view but you get a very authentic local experience.

Unfortunately no red wine. FOOD was very good

What a great place.. nice genuine food (we had fried octopus gopes fish and a gorgeous greek salad.. proper greek food without being pretentious! Definitely saving this place as my favourite !

We went there for dinner after a long afternoon at the beach. Really a different kind of place, located close to the highway bridge but guarded by the greened canopy and the sound of the rushing sea. Checked in at around 7 pm, were welcomed nice and felt comfy and like home. Dinner was served 15 minutes later by owner Nikos. Had some great small talk and fresh and tasty food. And most important for us: authentic, local food and you get that piece of sense of life you want to take home from vacation. Best fried sardines ever!

Probably the best taverna we have visited during our week-long stay in Crete. Really. When we visited it, we were greeted by Nicholas, its owner, who is the waiter and the cook at the same time. The simplicity, warmness and honesty of his communication was the first thing that made us stay and eat there. And afterwards we became even more satisfied with our choice. When the owner brought us the meniu and commented on each dish he could prapare that day, we felt literally like at home. And the food was very, very tasty, and in really large portions! For example, if you would like to take a greek salad it's worth considering sharing with your friend, as the bowl is truly huge:) and considering the size of the portions and quality of the food, the prices are quite low. The taverna also has a very clean and cozy interior, which makes you forget that very near the place goes the noisy highway. I really, really wish that this place would be visited by more people! So if you would ever find yourself somewhere around Irakleo, it's worth taking a ride to the nearby Paleocastro fortress and visiting this taverna! And afterwards taking a swim in a nearby beach:) A truly wonderful experience, huge thanks and greetings to the owner!
