★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice for a swim, cristal clear water. The beach was kind of crowded and the sand was not so nice (stones in the sand). Definitely not bad, but not great either.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Small and crowded beach. Showers are available all the time and in general seems that the authorities make efforts to keep the beach clean. Parking is rather difficult when the beach is full of people.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Small beach, close to the highway, with nice old Venetian castle ruins overlooking the sea. Located 14km west of Heraklion. The beach is not too well organized, but ok in general. There is a small market next to the beach and couple tavernas. You can rent sun beds and sun umbrellas.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful beach.... Nice atmosphere...it's a pity that this place is overcome by a motorway bridge... So... It's depend to you... Look the sea and the cliffs all around.. Or.. Look this big piece of cement behind your shoulders and over your heads..

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beach close to Heraklion (15km) with good quality water. Sand is less beautiful with grey colour and plenty of stones.
Shower and changing room available on beach. A few tavernas and a mini market.
The kids will love the rocks on the right where they can safely jump to deep waters.
A bridge from the motorway passes over the beach and although is not noisy is not a nice picture.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very good beach not far from the city. Crystal clear water and not too crowded with free parking. Gets very crowded on the weekends. You can buy a cheap umbrella here -aside from shade from the bridge this will be the only shade for you. Watch out for sea urchins!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice bay with tiny beach just 11 km out of Heraklion. Good for a quick hideout. A motorway bridge is over the area but does not affect the beauty. Mainly local people. Some snorkeling around is possible as well diving from the cliffs.
