★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing restaurant! Delicious food and awesome service! After the first time there we had to go back there for our last dinner on Crete and we were not disappointed. I would for sure come back there to eat the sea bream :P

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We visited the Alchemist on our second night, deciding to walk pretty much the length of the strip to plan for future nights out. We stayed at Casa Blu and from there it only took about 10 minutes to walk which was about right for us. We stopped for a drink at a wine bar almost opposite. They had really good drinks and bar snacks however wine bar it isn’t, well they do serve wine but your options are red, white or rose but we will be going back as the Bloody Mary was really good and came with all the trimmings plus great service. We got to the restaurant around 10pm and ordered a carafe of red, a beer followed by deep fried feta as a starter which we shared and then BBQ ribs and moussaka. The feta was to die for served with jam chutney and I have never had ribs so soft that when you pick up the bone the meat struggles to stay on. My only criticism was the BBQ sauce was too sweet but that’s just a personal preference. It was finished off by complimentary orange cake and raki, which finished me off for sure. Whole meal was €40. Staggered back fully satisfied

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent food, that's why we came twice during our stay in Koutouloufari. Very friendly service and I love the complimentary dessert (home made orange cake). Also recommended: zucchini crocettes and saganaki cheese with tomato jam as starters.

The complimentary orange cake is so gorgeous too (and I don’t usually enjoy orange at all!)
