5 Min walk uphill from the carpark but worth it. Ancient plays under the stars. Bring cushions.

Nice ancient theatre but if you need to watch a play, then you need to come early as most of the seats are destroyed and you can't find easily a good place to sit and you should bring a cushion

The Ancient Theatre of Oeniades is hidden pearl, located on a small hill, 400 m east of the archaeological site of Oeniades. The construction of the theater is dated to the mid-4th century BC. The first excavations of the site took place at 1900, and the second phase was made between 1987 - 1993 by the archeologists Prof. Savvas Gogos and L. Kolonas. The cavea of the theater (the sitting area) was carved out of the grey local limestone, and it consists of 28 rows of seats, of which only 19 remain. The theater is open to the public, and every summer it hosts concerts and plays as a part of the Oeniades Festival. Despite the excavations, the place still requires a lot of restoration and rehabilitation work in order to bring it back to its glory (I hope they will find the necessary budget for that). Arriving there requires 10 minutes walk uphill from the parking area and if you are about to watch a play, don't forget to bring cushions with you...

This amphitheater resides on a hilltop overlooking the Gulf of Patras. It was excavated in 1904. The 1st professional show to debut after that was Antigone, performed by the International Classical Theatre Company in 1987. Any of the taxi’s from Katochi will take you there. A magical place. Glad to see it being rediscovered with more use.
