The Two Brothers Restaurant - Epar.Od. Gortinas - Matalon

Very good restaurant!! Expensive for crete but a lot of places in matala were overpriced. This one was worth it. Everything we ate was good, we even came back for lunch. Wine was also fantastic!

A standard tourist restaurant, no typical Cretan hospitality. Good for meat and chips!

Staying in Matala with three young kids, we went for take out at the 2 brothers twice. Pizza was great and staff was friendly, they offered my son a complimentary dessert wile waiting. A few days later we came back for gyros.

Perfect service and hospitality. We had Gyros (not the best I ever had, but nevertheless very good) and Moussaka which was really amazing. We felt very welcome and will definitely return the next time!

We had fish soup (quite bland) and sea bass (with a delicious sauce and green leaves salad). Yummy pomegranate raki and fruit from the house.

Definitely one of the best in Matala. We had a great pizza, and some nice grilled meat. Outstanding service.

Simply delicious, very stylish tavern and nice staff

We ate here for lunch and dinner, so there's sort of two reviews in one. We also started most evenings with happy hour here, 2 for 1 on draft beer which is always a winner. Happy hour is 18:30 to 19:30. Worth a mention as one day when we just came for happy hour, even when we ordered another round at 19:45 we still got the happy hour price. Lunch visit We stopped here for lunch on our first day and we not disappointed. 2 plates of gyros, a mixed souvlaki and a salad with cheesey pita washed down with beers and wine. Excellent food, excellent service and a great price. Dinner visit. The boys arrived early as usual for happy hour, but as one of us (me) had been out afternoon drinking I arrived a little jaded so ordered a double espresso. I think it's an English joke, it arrived in a cup and saucer. Lol. They also says "cheers mate" so we felt welcome on every visit. Anyway, I digress, on to dinner. I forgot to photograph the starters (see afternoon drinking) but we almost certainly had bread, tzaztiki and something else. Mains were vegetables done in the oven with feta, lamb in the oven with feta, mushroom risotto and the fish special called Amber Jack. We had beers and wine and the meal was finished with complimentary ice cream, fruit and raki. This is a fantastic place to eat and/or drink, reasonably priced with the best staff.
