Beautiful landscape and a construction that shows you the power of man. (Beware of the tunnel that leads there, it slips too much, DO NOT RUN at all when moving inside)

Δυστυχώς δεν υπάρχει καλή ενημέρωση για τα μονοπάτια γύρω από τα φράγματα και πολλές διαδρομές είναι κλειστές. Αξίζει βέβαια και με το παραπάνω να το επισκεφτεί κανείς, διότι διακατέχεται από ηρεμία, γαλήνη και ομορφιά. A beautiful place that can be reached in a very short time either from Drama or Kavala. The road is good. Unfortunately there is no good information about the paths around the dams and many routes are closed. Of course, it is worth visiting with the above, because it is occupied by calm, serenity and beauty.
Y	Y.H. on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Thissavros Dam is the highest dam in Greece. The dam is located on Nestos River, 35 km northeast to Drama and 10 km west to Platanovrysis Dam. The dam was completed at 1996 and it was made for 3 purposes: power generation (capacity of 384MW), irrigation and flood control. The dam is 172 meters high and 480 meters long and its construction created the spectacular artificial lake - Thisavrou, that winds like a snake, and has many bays.
