Επιλέχτηκε η Λάρισα, προφανώς επειδή βρίσκεται στο κέντρο της χώρας και έτσι τιμάται όλος ο ελληνικός λαός για τον αγώνα του για την ελευθερία. Το άγαλμα είναι τοποθετημένο σε πανύψηλη στήλη (10 μέτρων περίπου), για να τονίζει ότι η νίκη της Ελλάδας ήταν νίκη μεγάλη. It was deployed by the Greek army in 1962 in the Fort of Larissa, for the victory of Greece in the 1940-41 war. Larissa was chosen, apparently because she is in the center of the country, thus honoring all the Greek people for her fight for freedom. The statue is mounted on a high column (about 10 meters) to emphasize that Greece's victory was a great victory.

It was installed by the Greek Army in 1962 at the Fortress of Larissa for the victory of Greece in the 1940-41 war. Larissa was chosen, obviously because it is in the center of the country, and so the whole Greek people are honored for their struggle for freedom. The statue is placed on a towering column to highlight that the victory of Greece was a great victory.
