Villa Amara - Villa Amara

We booked to stay here for a week in September 2018 however the villa was totally unprepared for the autumn/winter. To our disappointment the lack of hot water was an issue everyday during our stay, over half of the guests couldn’t shower because there was insufficient hot water, and messages were sent to the owners daily. By Friday we had understandably lost our patience as there had been no improvement and considering how much we had paid for the villa (£4000 for 6 nights) we did not expect to have hot water issues. There was a 4 month old baby in the group and we had to give her a bath by boiling a kettle to get hot water and bath her in the bathroom sink, this is just unacceptable. Furthermore we had a visit from the owner Dimitri on Saturday morning. He was incredibly rude, he swore and was extremely unprofessional in the way he spoke to us. We would expect a level of professionalism as we were paying for 5 star service; to be shouted at and called a liar was totally unacceptable. Why would we lie about the lack of hot water. After calming down and half heartedly apologising, Dimitri explained that there was a water tank and we were limited to hot water and it was not 24/7, he also then told us that when using the jacuzzi it uses half the water in the tank. It's not unrealistic for 12 guests to want 2 showers a day and use the jacuzzi once a day. He also said he only had two solar panels that heat the water but when the weather is bad it's not always straight forward. To be honest this is not our issue, the owners have a duty to provide hot water or mention otherwise when taking bookings. In such a large, luxurious house, especially when you are paying a premium to stay you expect hot running water continuously. This is not an unreasonable request. Knowing that the villa is suitable for 16 people, has 6 bathrooms and a jacuzzi we would expect adequate hot water within the property to run all the facilities and if there are any limitations we should have been advised of this before the stay. Having paid almost £4000 to stay here for a week I would not recommend this villa to anyone planning to visit outside of the summer as in our case they were unable to supply hot water.

The location of the villa is perfect, shipwreck beach (one of the top locations of the island) is a few minutes away from the villa. The hospitality of the cleaning lady and owners of the villa was excellent and they where very helpfull to make our vacation perfect. Amazing villa and we will definitely go back again!

We stayed at villa Amara with 13 people in October 2018 for 1 week. I have to say this was the best holiday I and my friends have ever had! The villa is amazing, quiet and offers all luxuries that you can imagine. All rooms have a fantastic sea view over a quiet valley. The tennis court, the infinity pool, the pool table, the fantastic tree house, the barbecue and fireplace left no wishes open. A huge thank you to the owner Dimitris and his entire team who are very friendly, welcoming, super attentive to details and our questions and requests and putting so much effort into providing their guests with an incredible experience. We got fresh fire oven baked bread delivered every morning, fresh caught and ready to grill sea fish organized for us, a private bus to a wine yard has been negotiated for a very fair price and organized for our group, transports from and to the airport as well as a private tour to the shipwreck beach have been included and many many more things! Just wow! Also I do not agree with the previous comment that there is not enough hot water. We used the jacuzzi, showered etc and never ever had any problems with hot water. I want to say a huge “thank you” from all my heart to Dimitris, Kamila, Dimitris, Mo and Dina who made our trip unforgettable! You are amazing! We are coming back!!

Great luxury villa with a fantastic view, a great pool area, tennis court and playroom. There is also a great outdoors kitchen with a barbecue area and a pizza oven. We enjoyed 14 lovely days at Villa Amara - the perfect base for exploring Zakynthos, beach and sail tours. The staff responsible for breakfast and cleaning were so nice and very helpful. Definitely a visit worth for a great holiday.

We have been in Villa Amara in October 18 (14 people) Villa Amara is a fabulous house with a lot of space inside and outside. No bedroom and bathroom are like the others furnishes with a great taste. There is also a modern kitchen, living room and a playroom...absolutely more than you need! The owner was very friendly and helpful all the time and the housekeepers did their work perfectly with health. Also included was a private boat tour to the shipwreck, which was very beautiful. It's a peaceful place to relax with a nice view to the sea. We liked it very much there!

My wife and I spent a week with friends at Villa Amara in June and it was a great experience from start to finish. We were met at the airport and driven to the villa in a private bus where upon arrival a complimentary lunch had been laid on for us. The villa itself is stunning with an infinity pool that has views out towards the sea. The villa has everything you could want including tennis court, sauna, Jacuzzi, tree house, kids play area, outdoor bbq area, outdoor pizza oven, a yoga platform and a helicopter landing pad should you need it! Worthy of its own mention is the 18 hole crazy golf course which is amazing and was designed by the owner Dimitri. The interior of the villa is beautiful with all bedrooms having sea views and with a lot of the furniture having been designed and made by Dimitri himself. The staff were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble and they were great fun, so a huge thanks to Mo, Dina, Andreas, George and Dimtri. The villa is a 5 minute walk from a quaint little village that has a couple of nice tavernas and a few shops selling local wares. Highly recommended and we will definitely be going back some day!!

Absolutely love this place. We've stayed here on 3 occasions to date and have arranged for another 2 trips this year. It's now a yearly staple for us. The owners, the villa manager, the chef, and their whole team are the best. Of course - the villa is AMAZING and we dream about it most of the year. All the amenities you'd need and want from a luxury villa in Greece, and a view that is to die for. The sunset is over the water right in front of the house every night - which is spectacular when you're eating dinner in the alfresco dining area near the BBQ. Couldn't recommend this place enough.

Absolutely stunning experience at Villa Amara. Came on a fitness retreat here in April 2022 and was absolutely breathtaking. Facilities were amazing, service was outstanding and the whole experience was faultless. Dina (the chef)was absolutely phenomenal. Herself and her colleague (forgotten her name) worked their buts off to keep us happy. They would arrive at 7am and didn’t leave until 9pm at night. They were both so passionate about cooking and serving authentic Greek food. Mohammed assisted with the cooking by cooking freshly caught fish on the open fire outside. Will be recommending to others. We used the tennis courts for our workouts and the helipad was a beautiful spot for stretching and yoga. The views were stunning and the sunsets through the lounge window were to die for. Pool, even though was cold as it’s isn’t heated, was well looked after. Heating/fan in the room. I stayed in the treehouse which was an experience in itself. Tv and mini fridge too in there too. I loved this place so much that I didn’t want to leave. Thank you for a great week ❤️
