Το μοναστήρι εξωτερικά θυμίζει φρούριο και εσωτερικά μετά από συντήρηση είναι πάρα πολύ όμορφο. Beautiful monastery with the miraculous image of the Virgin Mary welcoming you. Μη κοιτάξετε να δείτε στην δεξιά, καθώς μπαίνετε, πλευρά του περίβολου της μονής τα πόδια που βρίσκονται ψηλά στο τοίχο καί σύμφωνα με τη παράδοση ανήκουν σε κάποιον κλέφτη που πήγε να κλέψει τους θησαυρούς του μοναστηριού κι έγινε το θάυμα και τα πόδια του μαρμάρωσαν καθώς πήγαινε να φύγει με τους θησαυρούς( Βέβαια η πιό λογική εξήγηση είναι οτί αποτελούν μέρος κάποιου αρχαίου αγάλματος από την Αρχαία Μεσσήνη, που εγκολπώθηκε στο διάκοσμο της μονής. ) From the most beautiful and historic monasteries in the area.
