Youth Hostel Plakias - Milon

Been coming here for 14 years and still not tired of it. Has 1 girls only room with bathroom the rest are mixed. Recommend staying on the roof especially in the summer where it stays cool in the evening and no complaints about people snoring :) Honesty based drinks fridge open 24 hours.

I stayed here for just just over two weeks and there’s not too much to fault. Uli and co provided the best service you could possibly ask for. The layout of the hostel was arguably the best I’ve experienced. It’s the perfect hostel to relax and and spend time by yourself but it’s all the perfect hostel if you like socialising with other people and getting to know one another. In regards to the bathrooms there’s no faults at all, they were cleaned regularly and didn’t smell at all. The kitchen is great and has everything you need. Located just a few minutes walk from the beach and main road you can’t go wrong. Such a beautiful town to stay at full of fun free activities such as hiking, cliff jumping, river walking and much more. The only negative comment I’ve got to make is that the pillows are terrible and I’d need to have like 3 of them to actually feel like a pillow. And I’m not a fan that the internet doesn’t work / reach in any of the rooms.

An awesome place with a great vibe. As most areas are all out in the open, you always feel like you are in the middle of nature and with a fully stocked fridge for drinks as well as a decent kitchen, chilling here during the evening is no problem at all. The hostel is located a bit of a walk from the centre of Plakias and these roads are a bit in rough shape with little lighting. Walking here at night requires a flashlight to make sure you don’t trip. However, this also makes sure that the hostel is located in a more quiet area which is nice during the evening. Air conditioning makes it possible to sleep even during the hottest nights. The en-suite bathrooms meant sharing this area only with the people you share the dorm with, which is nice. The only problem we experienced is that the all-female-dorm is located next to the kitchen and seating area, and the other guests liked to stay up late as well as that they were enjoying themselves and therefore rather loud. It made sleeping a bit more difficult. We took diving classes which required us to get up early every morning meaning we turned in early as well, but we needed to buy earplugs to make sure we would get the sleep we needed.

I had the pleasure of staying here with my family when I was a preteen back in 05. I always felt safe. I’m sorry to hear about Chris, he was such a vibrant soul and so genuine! Is that cute little library still next door? I remember Chris took care of the little cat that lived there and there were horses. I’ve always loved the spacious bathrooms!! Plakias will be my second trip whenever I visit. Ugh that makes me so sad about Chris. I hope you all are keeping the love alive! Can’t wait to be back and finally get to those springs!

A great atmosphere, good vibes. Friendly people from around the world. Breakfast if you can't be bothered to cater for yourself. Beach just 5 minutes walk away. Spotless rooms and showers, sunbeds, hammocks...100% recommended .

The host was so wonderful and welcoming. This is the best hostel I've ever had the pleasure to stay at. The atmosphere of the people staying there was so inviting, I was invited to join a group for a hike the same day I arrived and made some great friends! I hope to come back soon!

Clearly one of the best hostels I've ever been to. Uli is very friendly and helpful in all matters. There's a lot of free stuff to borrow, a mini bar on a trust system, hammocks, books, really anything that the heart could desire. The atmosphere is great and there's a lot to do around. You have to walk everywhere tho, there's no public transport except for the one bus that's arriving and leaving 3 times a day but the nature is so beautiful that it's no problem at all.
