V	Vangelis Katsarinis on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ό τοιχογραφημένος ναός τής Παναγίας (Ζωοδόχου Πηγής)(γύρω στο 1600)(1958 Ανακαίνιση) με το παράξενο επώνυμο «Μαυρούτσα», νοτιοδυτικά της Φούρκας. Η εκκλησία της Ζωοδόχου Πηγής βρίσκεται στην περιοχή Μαυρούτσα στο βουνό, στη θέση που παλιά υπήρχε οικισμός απ' τον 17ο αιώνα, ο οποίος καταστράφηκε από τους πειρατές. Το παράξενο επώνυμο «Μαυρούτσα», του ναού της Παναγίας, είναι παραφθορά της βυζαντινής ονομασίας Παναγία Αμαυρούσα. Η γιορτή της «Παναγίας Αμαυρούσης» είναι της Ζωοδόχου Πηγής (προχωρημένη άνοιξη), τότε που οι άνθρωποι αρχίζουν να μαυρίζουν από τον ήλιο. Βλέπε και δαχτυλάκι με το «Μάρτη» των παιδιών, την ασπροκόκκινη κλωστή, για να μην τους μαυρίζει ο ήλιος (αρχ. ρήμα αμαυρόω - δ = κάνω κάτι μαύρο). Πιθανότατα στα θεμέλια της εξοχικής αυτής εκκλησίας της Φούρκας και λόγω της βυζαντινής της ονομασίας υπάρχει παλιά βυζαντινή εκκλησία. Φαίνεται να είναι σύγχρονη με τον Άγιο Αθανάσιο και ήταν, επίσης, τοιχογραφημένη. Καταστράφηκε το 1821, όταν, σύμφωνα με την παράδοση, μία γριά από την Φούρκα διέσωσε την εικόνα της Παναγίας παίρνοντάς την μαζί της στο δάσος όπου κατέφυγε για να σωθεί. Την εικόνα αυτή την βρήκε ο Χρίστος Μακρής (Ιερέας Φούρκας) στη Μαυρούτσα μέσα στη σπηλιά που είχε κρυφτεί η γριά η Καλδίνα. Γύρω-γύρω μάλιστα απ’ την εικόνα υπήρχαν καντήλια πήλινα μακρουλά σαν τσαρούχια. Η εικόνα είναι πολύ φθαρμένη και φυλάσεται στον ενοριακό ναό των Τριών Ιεραρχών στην Φούρκα. Από τις τοιχογραφίες του ναού διατηρούντα ελάχιστα δείγματα, στην θέση τους. Το 1958 έγινε ανακαίνιση στην εκκλησία της Μαυρούτσας, γιατί ήταν μέσα στη γη και έσκυβες για να μπείς μέσα. Η πρόσφατη ανακαίνιση του ναού δεν συνέβαλε στην ανάδειξη της ιστορικής φυσιογνωμίας του μνημείου.
