Don’t trust this company! They have 5 stars because they give a discount if the costumer gives them 5 stars in google review. Moreover, they don’t give you back the money of the reservation.

The car model was extremely old. We were confirmed a Hyundai Accent or similar and the image of the car is of a model which is 2018 but the car given was AT LEAST 2010. Tires were weak and untrustworthy. Best to pay a bit more to get a better deal and a more trustworthy agent.

It was a little tough working with them but in the end we were able to get back and forth like we needed. I made the first mistake because I am from the USA, so I flew forward in time zones and apparently through my booking, I booked the car a day earlier than I needed. They called me to ask if I would be arriving and I realized I messed it up. I apologized profusely and they said it was okay, but they ended up charging me since they said they claimed they held the car for me. I get that this was my fault (although a little understanding goes a long way!) Upon arriving, a man took us out to view the car. In Europe, traffic laws are not enforced and vehicles become easily damaged, scratched and otherwise are not in great condition. We went through the paperwork where he noted dents and chips, but said not to worry about scratches or small things. He said that wasn't considered damage in Greece. When we retuened the car, a woman tried to say we caused a scratch or dent to the left back passenger side and that we caused excess dirt on the bottom of the vehicle. I have no idea what that dirt was except normal wear and tear, but she said it wasn't normal. It looked really baked in to me and I couldn't even wipe it off with my hand. We essentially had to argue that we didnt cause the dirt/soot or anything to the back left door. We asked if we needed to sign anything confirming the return of the car and it's conditiom but she said no. Hopefully we don't see a surprise charge on our credit card. Maybe it's not just this place, perhaps many car rental companies do this but I would highly recommend taking a video and photos of the vehicle before you leave their business to ensure you get a fair deal when you return it.

We rented a Ford Focus for a month 2018. The car was not new but in good shape. They "meet & greet" at the airport and this worked out very nicely. We had guests with a baby so we rented a roof rack as well to handle all the luggage. When they went home we returned the roof rack at the Acropolis Athens office. (Good barber across the street!) Then we used the car to explore Peleponessos. We liked the roof hatch, so we could drive a lot without AC on. We retuned the car in the city and was even driven to the airport where they have the garage! We are very content with Acropolis Car Rental, the price , the friendly service and we recommend Acropolis warmly. It feels better to rent directly from a local rental company rather than feeding the brokers. // Ola Wortzelius

We rent more than 10 times a year cars at different airports in whole europe and have had some bad experiences with some rental companies. Acropolis was one of the best ever, very quickly, easy in organizations and very friendly. The prices very attractive, the car from technical experience fully okay. We can say after 3 weeks rental, do it and relax. It should be a good experience for you
