★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing beach!! You drive from monastery of "moni odogitrias"down to left road, its 7 kilometres dirt road but you can take down your normal car of you go slowly (30mims to go down safe)
Down the you can find a parking place, and one small cantina ( they have water, orange juice, beer, sandwich, etc)
BE CAREFUL !!!!
DON'T LET THE CAR UNDER THE TREE'S!!! THE COATS JUMPING ON TO EAT THE TREES AND THE DESTROY YOUR CAR!!
Better at the sun than broken ?
When you park you follow the gorge 1,5 kilometres easy walking and you go directly to the beach!
If you are near try it its amazing place!!!!
Have fun!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing trail, if you are close to Kali Limenes or Matala you should not miss Agios farrago beach , the most interesting is the trail . To experience for yourself the real wildness of Crete , very easy walk to the beach. Worth to be seen.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There are two ways to go to the beach of Agiofarago one is by boat from nearby ports (Matala, Agia Galini, Kokkinos Pirgos) and the second is by cross the gorge, by easy hiking of about 25 - 35 minutes. The road until the parking is bad (dirt track), try to follow the signs or other cars not GPS! (Or type agiofarago not agiofarago beach)
We chose to cross the gorge and the route was really beautiful within the vertical rocks of the gorge. On the way you will see the chapel of St. Antony built on 14th century. If you choose to cross the gorge go early in morning because the sun is very strong.
The beach at the exit of the gorge is very beautiful with small pebbles and clear blue water. On the left of the beach is a rocky arch that you can swim beneath and on the right is a big rock in the sea that you can jump from! Vertical cliffs surround the beach.
You will meet free wild goats climbing on cliffs and walking on beach that is very rare to see somewhere else.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Take it very easy on the dirt road down from the monastery at the top. Park at the bottom car park where there is a refreshments van...really!.
Then a comparatively easy stroll down through the gorge takes you down to beautiful beach...probably not a good idea to wear flip-flops for the walk but you may need them for parts of the pebble beach.
Look out for the goats in the gorge.
Enjoy, it's quite a magical place. ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing place! The dirt road drive is a bit tough but we made it through with a small fiat 500. Just drive slowly and carefully and you will be fine. Worth it!
Go early in the morning if you want the place to yourself!
