4 euro entrance fee, and don't fall. Not worth it to watch a few holes and climb up and down with out any paths or directions.

Completely over price for what you get. The entrance is 4€/pax and you are on your own inside. No path, no security and it's actually sad that they let the tourist climbing and damaging the rocks. On the bright side, it's fun to see those caverns in front of the sea. The kids will love it for sure.

Interesting to visit. Free to go for an easy peak into one of the caves, of if you feel like going for a more advanced climb. Stunning view over the bay

As we all know the most famous attraction of Matala are its caves carved into the rock that hosted many Hippies in the 60s and 70s but many years before, they hosted the civilizations of prehistory and in Roman and Christian times the caves were used as tombs. Today the caves dug in the porous sandstone walls can be visited at a cost of € 4 per person, with opening from 10.00 in the morning to 19.00 in the evening (from April to September) and from 8.30 to 15.00 (from October to March). If you've come this far, don't miss a visit! I give you a little advice: the best time is that of the sunset which makes it very suggestive, I don't needed to book but it is better for you to do it for that hour since the morning, in order to find a place! Interesting place to see. I'd recommend reading about its history prior to going. Wear good walking boots. Cool place for climbers/boulderers.

The famous caves of matala. Entry is 4 EUR per person. The view is nice but be aware you are going to need to climb a little bit to get to the different levels! I would definitely recommend to use „real shoes“ for this one. Saw people doing this in flip flops - not a good idea. View of the bay from the top and from the side reaching out in the ocean is really great.

Great experience. Many caves that been used as a roman cemetery. Worth to see. You need to have trainers or stable shoes not flip-flops as you need to climb a bit. The best ones are closer to the sea. Entrance is €4. Free under 25 years of age. Large parking near the beach €3 for standard car for the whole day. Nice beach as well.

Awesome experience as must see if in the area!!! The town is wonderful also. If you do go see the caves there is climbing involved make sure you have proper footwear, no flip flops. We wore our water shoes which worked great because of the grip.
