★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Took us 20 minutes to get there in the burning sun. Totally doable but I would never go there in flip flops or sandals. Saw people turning back because of bad footwear.

Good shoes recommended. About 45min per direction, quite hot and sunny.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Small beach but big waves and not crowded like Matala beach. The entry of the hike to the beach (30' approx, completely doable) is not easy to find as it's not indicated with big signs. It's in front of a shop selling t-shirts. Then you will get all the arrows required to guide you there.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice and easy hike to the Red Beach. Closed shoes are recommended. The trail will take you around 20min and 90 metres in height (uphill) to get from Matala to the Red Beach. They charge 10€ for an umbrella.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pretty trail with a lot of nice views and ends right at a beautiful beach. We needed 30min from Matala to the Red Beach (with a few pauses). I would recommend to walk this trail only with good shoes, I was very happy about my hiking shoes at many times!
What would have been great where restrooms (at the beach). And there was unfortunately a lot of trash at the beach.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's worth the 20-25min walk over the rocky hill from Matala. Good walking or hiking shoes needed. I would say not for children or for people with mobility problems. The beach itself is secluded and in October it wasn't busy. About half the people on the beach were nudist. It has a relaxed vibe. I thought it was one of the best beaches I've been to.
