★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Highly recommended for travellers looking for a simple, convenient and welcoming accommodation as a starting point to explore the beautiful island of Crete. It is a small and calm hotel run by a lovely family who are very kind and helpful. They always give good tips and advice on where to go and what to see. They helped us organise our trips flexibly. Rooms and furnitures are simple and clean, it was good to return to here every day after a long excursion. For dinner local specialties are served and it is worth to taste the wines produced by the family. Kalamaki beach is close by and Chania town is also easily accessible. Akasti is a very good choice to stay!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was in the restaurant. You can not consider to enter it standing on the street, because the bar and the restaurant is on the first floor. But they cook quite good, service is nice and prices are surprisingly low. They often offer dessert or raki for free at the end of the meal. Beautiful view on the bay, Theodorou island and the church of St. Dionizos, especially in rays of setting sun.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I don't know what people expect from a 2* hotel, but I know what we've received: hospitality, a fully equipped room, cleaning every day, delicios food (we had half board) and smiles everywhere. The staff is excepțional, they exceeded our expectation. We will definitely be back next year!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Akasti Hotel was everything we needed for a 5-night stay in Chania! The location was excellent! The bus stop is near to the hotel and it takes 10 minutes for the city center! it has a great pool and is also a 5-minute walk to Kalamaki beach! We received great recommendations regarding the best places to visit!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Photos on booking are misleading, we left immediately after we arrived and manager didn't offer any refund for the 6 nights paid in advance. Please check the photos we took today, they show the real condition of the rooms.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Terrible conditions. Old, dirty, run down and very bad smelling rooms. Equipment is all rusty, dirty, everything looks 30 years old seriously. Bathroom is old, dirty, poor. We checked in, and checked out right after seeing our room. Neighborhood is also bad, no beach within walking distance, although the property is right in front of the beach, but you cannot swim or even sunbathe there. We did not try the restaurant since we left immediately, but it also looked very old and low quality (eg the fridge was full of rust on the outside).
