★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hi,
We stayed at Alexandros Studios for 10 days from July 5th to July 15th. We were a total of 12 people (family) and therefore had to consider an average budget accomodation which still would look spacious and luxurious. After a lot of research and reading loads of reviews, I decided to book Alexandros Studios. And we definitely did not regret it. At the booking stage, I was in touch with Mike and I must say, he has been really really flexible in order to setup our rooms accordingly and offer us a good deal on the prices.
But this was only the beginning: once there, we were welcomed by Mike and Inka who were just charming and treated us with some Raki as a welcome present. Our rooms were standard but really good, we had a small issue with the toilet flush, hopefully fixed as soon as raised to Mike. Towels were renewed every day and cleaning was carried out daily as well. The pools were amazing (there is a pool for adults and a smaller pool for kids, which is just perfect for families).
The breakfast is the same everyday but offers a good variety of choices (I read somewhere that cereals for example were charged as an extra, I can confirm it wasn't in our case). The freshly squeezed orange juice was particularly good.
Mike also holds a small useful kind-of convenience store where you can buy bottles of water and other very useful things in case of emergency, and at a price that is quite close to the ones in small marts outside (we bought all our water bottles there).
Alexandros Studios is really well located if you intend to visit the East side of the island:
- it is really close to Chania (12 mins drive by car into the extremely beautiful old town): we never got tired of going there
- you're 10 minutes away from two very nice and not crowded beaches: Iguana Beach and Golden Beach
- you're ideally located to go to Balos Beach, Falassarna Beach and Elafonissi Beach
- and of course, you're just 30 mins away from the Chania Airport
- the drive to Heraklion is quite far, but we still made it once, and really for us, it's nothing close compared to Chania
Mike and Inka gave us really good tips, there were always available for help and to provide any kind of assistance (even helping us park our car in the sometimes narrow parking spaces)
All in all, we had an amazing time and would surely return if we ever were to come back to Chania,
I would very strongly recommend this place, you won't regret it,
Thank you Inka & Mike,
Roger

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing and humorous owner, Mike. He and his wife are so nice and they can help you with booking excursion to Elafonissi beach 25 euro per person. Swimming pool is nice and clean. Beach is also nearby, around 10 mins walk. Affordable price even in peak season. I recommend you to get hear by taxi from Chania city center that costs 10 euro. Kitchen is well equipped.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pros:
- buffet breakfast were just superb!!; very nice selection of the healthy food and drinks
- kind hosts with a lot of useful tips regarding tourist attractions in Crete; Mike has a lot of hinds about great and less known places around
- sea view
- amenities
- close (ca. 1 km by a walk) to the nearest beach
Cons:
- WiFi was just not working in our room; it had either very weak signal or no signal at all, depending on the place in the room and time; when signal was on, Internet was slow or was disconnecting from time to time; rely on a data roaming or Greek sim card
- for most of the days, until the midnight, there's a 90s cheesy pop/euro dance music playing from the boombox at the bar

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good:
1. The breakfast was nice
2. The pool was big and pretty clean
Bad:
1. The room was dirty and there were hair from the previous customers in the siphon
2. The staff were indiscreet and asking all day questions about us and our plans
3. The facilities were old fashioned like it was the same from 1990's
4. Too many mosquitos and no screens to keep them away
5. The soap for the dishes was extra 2 euros and if you need extra toilet paper they charge you 1 euro
6. The door couldn't lock
7. 60 euros for one night while you can find a pool suite in other hotels for 45 euros. Too expensive for what it is.
I don't recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Everything excellent ? starting with pick up from airport and owner offered transfer back to airport, location is very good indeed and 3 min walk there is bus stop which will take you to main Chania town.
Things to consider: Wifi is really bad but its nothing to do with hotel but its network itself.
The hotel is about 4 miles from main town and I barely get 1 bar or at most nothing at all so for streaming is sucks as at best you get 2G and forget about 3G or 4G.
If you planning to chat the best place is city centre, get Vodafone prepaid SIM as they have plan with 40gb internet so for few weeks you will be OK and it costs 40 euros. The rest options is not good at all as other operators offering 1.5 to 4 GB max which is a joke nowadays.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A wonderful hotel with all the amenities you need. Suitable for families as well as couples. I celebrated my honeymoon with my wife here and it was lovely. Ask the owners Mike or Inka about what you would like to se and do on crete and they will give you all the inside tips and trix. We rented a car based on a referral from Mike and we had an wonderful adventure around Western crete based on Mikes and Inkas tips. The breakfast had all the basic choices but also some cretan specialities. All in all very cosy and welcoming atmosphere.
