ALMYRIDA SANDS Villa, appartements et studio ([email protected]) - Almyrida-Apokoronas

Me and my family came to Crete in August! I couldn’t recommend Almyrida sands enough!!! It’s absolutely BEAUTIFUL, I couldn’t actually fault it. Clean, great location, the owners were absolutely amazing and gave us so much information too! Will definitely be returning in the future!! Great for kids too! Don’t think twice! Get booking! We stayed as a family in August 2019 and had a wonderful time in Villa Xirosterni. The villa has been thoughtfully designed from the layout to the decor with thoughtful touches such as fresh flowering grasses in vases in the rooms. We felt like we were in a magazine layout with the beautiful styling and took many photos trying to capture the atmosphere which has married old and new. The beds were some of the most comfortable we have stayed in on holiday and the sun loungers by the pool were so comfortable too. The view across the small balcony towards the sea and the mountains is beautiful every evening and morning and looks across the rooftops of the village. Yannis was so helpful - bringing local artisan bread to us and leaving some marmalade and olive oil which they produced themselves for us to enjoy. We bought some to bring home! It was a treat to have the villa cleaned every four days and Yannis was very good in communicating with us to agree a mutually convenient time for this and the pool cleaning. It was very hot when we were there but there was often a small breeze near the pool and always some shade, as well as the water to cool in of course - while we watched the many birds, butterflies and dragonflies. Because it was so hot it was very helpful to have some air conditioning. We were a group of 7 so our son slept on the sofa bed in the living space. The only thing we would say about that was that there was no air conditioning in this space so when we closed windows (because of mosquitos) at night, it became a hot room to sleep in. It is in a good location for lots of local sites. We visited: Rethmynon, Chania, Georgiopoulis, Lake Kournas, Alymyrida, Kalyves and Frangokastello on the south coast easily. Yannis was brilliant at giving us tips on places to eat and visit. We ate twice in the neighbouring village of Gavlahori for example. Obviously in this location a car is really necessary. There is also a convenient little shop within walking distance. We loved our time there - it was so relaxing and we were made to feel very welcome and looked after by Yannis and Cecile. We stayed at the almyrida sands "studio alpha" for 7 days and it's astonishing what Jean Pierre made out of this small one room apartment. It's beautifully designed with colours of white and wood and has lots of storing capacities. The kitchen is fully equipped and self made olive oil and orange jam awaited us as a welcome gift. The outdoor area is equally designed in white and wooden colours and provides a few chill areas. We enjoyed our stay and want to thank Jean Pierre for his helpful advices and recommendations.

We are really highly disappointed and tired of the contact with this hotel... Greece decided to close all hotels until June but the hotel is not willing to pay our paid money back...taking money and providing no service, this is really not the way how guests should be treated. The hotel offered a voucher but we're not able to take it, the offered time frame is not possible for us and we won't be able to travel with this group anytime soon. Some of us already lost their jobs... We were really happy and looking forward as the appartment seems to be beautiful. But this all stopped and is turning into a nightmare as the hotel is keeping an amount of more than 1000 Euro without being able to provide any service. We asked them so often to show some goodwill or whatever but the are just ignorant and egoistic. Taking the money and providing NOTHING despite of trouble is really the most egoistic way of having a tourist accomodation. We definitely won't book this hotel again as this situation shows how they really are....

We wanted to discover Crete this summer. It is not very far from the UK and summer was very much needed this year. We booked an apartment for two for the beginning of July but unfortunately, we were not allowed to go to the island before 15th July. The owners were very helpful and listening. They offered us to rent another apartment available on other dates. They always tried to find a solution with us that would suit everyone. Once there, we were able to find an apartment even better than on the pictures: clean, spacious. The owners are very nice and offered us some homemade olive oil. They love Crete and make us feel it, it's really nice even in this special period.

BEST PLACE EVER! We stayed at the omega apartment and it was FANTASTIC! The rooms were so chic and clean. The owners are so lovely and brought us fresh bread and homemade marmalade! It was the perfect relaxing vacation. We were traveling with a baby and we’re provided with a baby bed, high chair, and lots of toys! Thank you so much!!! We hope to come back and recommend to everyone!

Probably one of the best places to stay in Crete. The hosts were very polite and made our stay a heaven. They also did a gorgeous job restoring the villa, keeping the cretan vibe alive with a touch of french refinement. Loved the marble tops, fabrics and the stylish wooden pieces. I highly appreciated the attention to details like quality ceramics and silverware. The location it's great, it's slightly above the sea level which offers you a nice view to the sunset, the sea and the mountains. Also, it's very close the the beach area, restaurants and markets. I highly recommend and it's a must stay when visiting Almyrida. Thank you again!

Hands down the best Place you can find in Almyrida!! No other hosts are going to be so kind and welcoming. These 2 wonderful people live and breathe Joy and gentleness, hospitality Is their passion and you can feel It right away. On our First morning they brought as freshly baked bread, homemade marmelade done by Cécile, 2 coffee capsules and even several oranges from their garden( for logical reasons that won't be possible all year round but in May this happens:). Constantly available for every need and always with a 32-teeth-smile on their face. Together with my Friend Giorgia we stayed in the Alpha apartment, the smallest of the lot, but It had everything to spend the best time you could Wish. Great electrodomestics everywhere, all the kitchen utensiles you could imagine and we cooked awesomely!! The gorgeous but minimal design of the room really made you feel at home.
