Ampelos Resort Hotel - Plaka Naxos

Somewhere in nowhere. Hotel is really not near something besides the beach and it looks like not everything is finished. For that money that’s inexcusable.

The place is lovely, confortable, very nice and helpful customer service. Very close to an awesome beach. Everything was very good! I recommend.

Overpriced, bad location and lack of amenities. Despite the clean and well maintained rooms this property is isolated with no restaurants at walking distance and the beach close to the hotel is rocky, not suitable for young families. You need to take the car for all activities. When challenged the owner of the property (Evi) on the issues above and queried the excessive charge for the room, she was rude, unprofessional and asked to collect the full charge in advance. You can find better value for money accomodation in Plaka especially if you are looking for car free holidays with young children.

Fantastic place. Brilliant rooms and a great breakfast. Located at the bottom of plaka beach which takes you away from the crowds for a peaceful scenic setting. Best thing here though is the staff. The family are incredibly welcoming, super friendly and genuinely lovely people. Highly recommend staying here!

From arrival to departure we were both so well looked after . The location of the Ampelos resort was just perfect for us as it situated on Plaka beach with easy access to surrounding areas. After having a sleep after our night flight we finally got to meet Nadia who manages the resort , we had a very warm welcome .Over our 2week stay Nadia was just brilliant! everything from car hire to giving us advice about the island to the best places to eat was done for us with lots of enthusiasm and a lovely smile. She's absolutely brilliant. The Ampelos Resort is absolutely spotlessly clean ! From morning to night the 2 girls servicing the rooms and grounds didn't stop working. We had the pleasure of having the lovely Irene servicing our room everyday, was lovely coming back to the room at the end of the day after she had done her magic. Every morning we had a great breakfast by the pool (served in the room if required) Would also like to mention how gorgeous our room was ! The most comfortable bed I've slept in and lots of high speck touches throughout the room . Really looking forward to coming back in September. Billyx Glennx

We had a really good experience at Ampelos Resort Hotel. We were looking for a relaxing holiday, away from the main touristic spots in Greece and we nailed it down with our choice. Combining this island + off peak season made our stay unbeatable! One of the best sunsets that we have ever seen, was literally 50m away from our room. On the other hand, Stella, who was in charge of the place, made us feel at home by preparing us the best imaginable breakfast every single morning! Well diserved 5 stars for this one!

The resort is really not one: It's "rooms to let" plus a very small pool and outdoor "lounge", plus breakfast. The rooms are very well appointed in an excellent location, with sea views and sizeable balconies very clean and very well kept up (but small). Service for ~10 rooms is provided by 2 amazing ladies (one cleaning, one doing everything else, including breakfast, and reception until 2:30). The rooms are right next (ie 10m from the edge of the property) to a great sandy beach. So, what is the problem? The rooms are overpriced for high season (200E plus for a small-sized double or triple room), and the property is undeveloped except for the immediate room area (it's basically cleared brush). Also, at this price, I'd expect at least fresh juice and cake that don't come from supermarket cartons (there is a great bakery just minutes from the property, and oranges are dirt cheap in Greece). We liked the place, we'd even stay there again probably, but it's annoying how limited the offering is for the price. The other Ampelos places on Naxos are of the same ownership. They appear to offer fuller service - but the location of this one is much better if you're into the beach life.

Lovely apartment, very clean with kitchen facilities and balcony. Pleasant staff and very short walk to the beach. Can walk to a bar/restaurant a short distance away. Plaka beach is really special- clean, quiet and rejuvenating. Wonderful holiday with our 2 young boys. Take a visit to the bakery up the road, delicious!
