★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Σε αυτό το σημείο βρισκόταν η νησίδα Ανεμόμυλος η οποία πήρε το όνομα της από τον ανεμόμυλο που είχε χτιστεί στο έδαφος της. Πλέον με τις επιχωματώσεις έχει γίνει ένα με το Μεσολόγγι. Ήταν το τελευταίο προπύργιο του Μεσολογγίου. Στον ανεμόμυλο κλείστηκαν το βράδυ της Εξόδου ο επίσκοπος Ρωγών Ιωσήφ μαζί με άλλους 15-16 προμάχους και την Μ. Δευτέρα (δύο μέρες μετά την Έξοδο) βλέποντας πως δεν είχε έρθει βοήθεια από τα ελληνικά στρατεύματα τα οποία περίμεναν και καθώς τελείωναν τα πυρομαχικά αποφάσισαν και έβαλαν φωτιά στο τελευταίο μισοάδειο βαρέλι μπαρούτι που τους απόμεινε και πραγματοποίησαν την δεύτερη μεγαλύτερη ανατίναξη του Μεσολογγίου μετά από αυτήν του Καψάλη πετώντας προς τον ουρανό. Για κακη του τύχη ο Ρωγών Ιωσήφ ανασύρθηκε από τους Τούρκους μισοζωντανος και τον κρέμασαν στα ερείπια του ανεμόμυλου γδερνωντας τον ζωντανό έως ότου ξεψυχησε...
Προς τιμήν των προμάχων του Ανεμόμυλου χτίσθηκε σε μικρογραφία μνημείο με την μορφή ανεμόμυλου σε μικρογραφία
