★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An open-air museum of modern Greek history. The monuments (either graves or cenotaphs) bear the names of many Greek fighters for Independence and philhellenes who fought and fell here during the city's siege by the Ottomans in 1826.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's a park dedicated to people who contributed during the Greek revolution, with statues and memorials accompanied by the flags of the non-greeks who contributed during the war. One side of the park is also surrounded by old walls with canons. What amazed me is the total lack of vandilization which points out that everybody in the area respects the park. It's a must visit in Messolongi for a visitor.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Quiet, beautiful, touching, green garden, that keeps the memory of all those many, coming from several countries, who gave their lives for the Independence of Greece. The statue of Lord Byron stands upon the burial of his heart. Missolonghi has not much to offer, except the emotional views over the lagoon, but this place is extraordinarily worth seeing, if you're keen on culture and history.
