Amazing place. You can see the water coming out from the ground. It's so cold and refreshing. Worth to get down there or even go through the Vikos gorge and end there.

Quite a tough hike to get there and especially back up, but absolutely worth it! Crystal clear, though freezing cold water. We had an empty bottle with us to fill with cold spring water, it was definitely refreshing!

PLEASE READ THIS: If you come from Vikos, there is a point on the trail (after 20 min) with a sign (that has fallen on the path) which shows both Vikos and Monodendry directions. DONT CONTINUE ON THAT PATH, but rather turn left, down a smaller path. This leads to the popular point of the river that you see along the hike down. Nothing will happen if you continue with the main path, except lose some time. In any case, around 16:30 you might catch some last rays of sunshine so do plan your time accordingly and come before that. Enjoy!

Wow, we loved this place! We took the hike from Vikos village early in the morning (I really recommend doing that if you're visiting during the summer). There are some steep parts (not too steep though) but all in all not hard. We're in normal, not usually sporty shape ;) took us 40 minutes to go down including many photo opportunities, 50 minutes to get back up. The hike is just stunning and the spring at the end is a fairy tail like spot, just pure and beautiful. The water is freezing cold, but the peace and quiet are priceless

We followed the advice of the previous reviewer and turned left down the fork in the main trail once we reached the sign (showing Vikos and Monodendri in opposite direction). Found the spring easily. However, this trail is very faint and easily missed. So make sure you look out for fallen signpost. The hike up and down the gorge is moderately DIFFICULT. Not recommended for very young children, or the elderly without a reasonable level of physical fitness. Some parts of the trail are steep with sharp drops to the sides. The downward journey took us 1 hour and 30min and the climb up was 1hour and 15min. Some reviewers mentioned a 45 min per way climb which is possible if you hike continuously at a brisk pace. We stopped frequently for photo and water breaks. The water is icy cold when we were there early June. Too cold for a proper swim. However, the crowd is less now in early summer compared to late summer when the water will be warmer. Beautiful spring tho and well worth the hike down.

We went to the 3rd spring down Vicos town. A nice place to chill after a long walk in the valley or even if you went down from the town directly. The water is super cold and refreshing. Nice green nature around.
