Apollonia Beach Resort & Spa - Andreas Papandreou Street

We visited the Spa which was great. All the staff at the Spa lovely and the treatmenst are great.

We stayed here last week. Staffs are very nice, multilingual, the rooms are very clean despite the fact that there were many clients around. We also love and enjoyed our stay because there are greens everywhere and they updated our room at the beachfront. They were very organised with the covid protocols at the restaurant especially when everybody was there.

Georgia the man on reception needs a pay rise, absolutely pleasure. Lovely guy.

Very bad hotel, pool area is run down, rooms are old, staff is not friendly and we even found mold in the food (3 times! during our 1 week stay). Its located next to a power plant. Don't let the nice pictures fool you, avoid at all cost. For the same money you can find better hotels.

I payed extra for bungalow with pool front. No regret there. Nice clean room with large balcony. Pools are large and with optimal temperature at least for me. Beach is really nice with sand and pebbles. There are large but smooth rocks in the sea itself, but only for 2 meters or so, than it is sand again. Restaurant has smaller variety of food, mainly for lunches, but dinners are better. The biggest hit is the avocado restaurant. The fact, that the pool and beach bar close so early is a big let down, but the main bar is opened until 1am. The personal is very friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed my stay here. Don't let people complaining about the power station to the right and a river flowing to the sea and the left discourage you. Both are far and you don't really notice.

Early Spring Break for our family including 16 years old (almost) to wind down before GCSEs. The staff at hotel is friendly and genuinely welcoming. They speak English, German and French. The quality of room is good with smart TV, small fridge and air conditioning unit we could control (important detail as night were still cold in early April). We’ve booked all inclusive break and have no regrets about that. Food is fresh and tasty and there is unlimited supply of snacks, beer, cocktails and coffee. The swimming pools (there are few) are of varied depth (max is 3.25m) and are open from 10:00-18:00 with lifeguards. The beach is not very big, but the sea is great with long steady sea bed (30 meters in and water is not very high). Having lived in the UK for long time we have taken out wet suits, which we have not taken out of our luggage as the sea was already warm. Few local tips: Bus 1 takes you straight from the airport and to the hotel Bus 6 takes you to to Heraklion Town Centre. It cost €1.5 per person if you buy tickets at a kiosk / news agent. Onboard tickets cost €2.5 Also, it is a 3.5-4 mile long walk from the hotel to the Town Centre. Most of it can be easily done on a beach. Enjoy your stay!
