Kolem 4. stol. př. n. l. zde byly nalezeny léčivé prameny, později vystavěn velký chrám boha Asklepia, využívány byly lázně, bazény. Najdeme zde pozůstatky pokladnice s krásnou mozaikou, kam se ukládaly posvátné předměty a dary vyléčených poutníků, zbytky starokřesťanské baziliky. Z velké stavby Asklepiova chrámu se do dnešní doby dochovaly 2 mramorové sloupy, které se stále vypínají do výšky téměř 6-ti metrů. Vedle levého sloupu se dochoval podstavec pro sochu boha s nápisem. Město bylo zničeno poč. 9. stol., kdy Krétu ovládli Saracéni. I am sorry that such a great place for Crete like this and is so neglected. Around 4th century.
