 Wonderful and state-of-the-art new Museum of Eleftherna in Rethymno. It is located in the village of Eleftherna after the village of Margarites. Wonderful museum, as well as the old stone huge tanks, and the ancient ones.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Super Spaziergang zu der alten Stadt, Kirche, Tunnel und zu den riesigen Zisternen, wo man nur staunen kann wie die Minoer das hinbekommen haben. Der Weg nach unten rechts lang zur alten Stadt und links lang sind die Höhlen und Zisternen. Etwas Schweißtreibend, aber lohnt sich. Ca. 3-4 h Zeit nehmen und alles kostenfrei, wenn man oben anfängt vom Turm aus.
Great walk to the old town, church, tunnel and to the huge cisterns, where you can only be amazed how the Minoans managed it. The way down right long to the old city and left long are the caves and cisterns. A bit sweaty, but worth it. Approx. Take 3-4 hours and everything is free of charge if you start from the top of the tower.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ In Anbetracht der frühen und späten minoischen Keramik, die gefunden wurde, sowie der verschiedenen Reste von Gebäuden, die gesehen werden können, muss das gesamte Gebiet seit etwa 2000 v . Chr . bewohnt gewesen sein. An einer Seite sieht man die unterirdischen Wasserzisternen , die aus den Felsen gegraben wurden. Ihre Größe zeigt die Größe der antiken Stadt an.
Die wichtigsten Funde befinden sich im Archäologischen Museum von Rethymnon.
Für die Ausgrabungen und das Museum beträgt der Eintrittspreis 2017 - 6€
Given the early and late Minoan pottery that was found, as well as the various remains of buildings that can be seen, the entire area has been in evidence since around 2000 BC. BC have been inhabited. On one side you can see the underground water cisterns that were dug out of the rocks. Its size indicates the size of the ancient city.
The most important finds are in the Archaeological Museum of Rethymnon.
The entrance fee for the excavations and the museum is 2017 - 6 €
