Auf dem Weg von der Bucht zur Burg kommt man an der Höhle vorbei. Lampe nicht vergessen, denn es ist ziemlich dunkel.
You will pass the cave on the way from the bay to the castle. Don't forget the lamp because it is quite dark.

Leuke wandeling, heel mooie grot!
Nice walk, very nice cave! Very nice view over the bay! The cave is not that deep, but very high. The way there is not always easy because some parts are with smooth stones and quite steep. We were with young children who could still do it and loved it!

in Greek mythology, Herucles slew all de sons o de King o Pylos except Nestor, who became king o Pylos himself. Nestor appears as a sage elder in both Iliad and Odyssey, expounding on how things were really tough back inna de day. if yinz visit Voidokilia Beach, +/-12 km (7.5 mi.) outta Pylos, you can take 15-minute walk to see Nestor’s Cave. first, enjoy your time onna beach, renowned for its natural beauty. now climb over dem dunes at de beach's SW end, follow de hillside path to de cave, just below the ruins o de Paleo Kastro, de old Pylos castle. legend has it, this cave is where Hermes hid 50 cattle he stole from Apollo! The trip is way worth it for views alone: de panorama takes in Voidokilia Bay, Gialova lagoon, Bay o Navarino, Peloponnesian hills & city o Pylos!

On our way round the hill ( castle, cave, beach ) a cool stop inside the shallow cave. A bit dangerous and steep on the way down the beach. Best views of Voidokiloia beach going downhill from here. Get proper shoes or this will become unpleasant).
