I've been to this museum four times and each time there are more exhibits. It's really interesting to see all the war equipment that has been found in the surrounding area - it started with the original owner displaying stuff he dug up in his fields. Before long, locals would bring him stuff they dug up to add to the collection and there are now so many interesting things to see, shells, firearms, radios, typewriters, medical supplies, all sorts of bits of kit and even pieces of plane. The last time I visited a small building had been given over to displaying Cretan rural equipment - wooden mixing troughs, kitchen equipment, farm implements, etc. There's more to see each time I visit. The owner usually tries to ply us with shots of raki before we leave! If you're driving over to the south coast of Crete, it's definitely worth stopping here.

Personal museum of artifacts from the WWII war on Crete. Collected by the owners father and grandfather. Way too much stuff in a small place. Have all sorts of stuff you don't see, other than pristine examples of, in regular museums. If you are a war history buff it is worth the stop.

It's a nice privat museum. Since 2 generation they collected war memories. There are things from different war countries. Its free of charge but they expect some money. The owner explains us a lot about the things are shown

An old-style museum with MANY items. Clearly made and collected by a person with a passion for his own history. I think you need to be pretty interested in the history of World War ll to really appreciate it. The granddaughters of the founder were guides. A little shop with some written material and different food items from Crete next to the museum

Loved this place it is a family ran museum showing the collection of memorabilia found by the father / grandfather on Crete. The host of the museum is an excellent man , excellent humour and both he and his daughter have a great knowledge of the battle for Crete. If you have the slightest interest in history or just passing by then make this a stop. Situated on the Hora Skafion Road it's set in a beautiful place too . Thankyou very much

Nice little museum with a great collection. You won't be spending hours here and the tour might feel a little hurried, but it's sure worth a visit! I've come across things I haven't seen anywhere else. Loved it. (Keep in mind, the area is rather hilly, and there's no wheelchair access)

A great place to visit, fantastic collection of artifacts. If you read the sign at the entrance it is 5 euro to visit, why would a private museum be free? Cheers from a very happy and appreciative Australian.

Reallying nice experience over all. There are a lot of old weapons and newspaper from the war. Also the guide was really informative. There is an admission but you learn that at the end of tour which is kinda sady in my opinion (we paid 3 euros for it). Would recommend if you are around the area.
