Our stay at Stefan Village was just excellent! The hotel is highly recommended for families, there are 2 main pools where the kids and adults can safely swim, water slides that even adults can enjoy along with the kids and 2 children pools for the small ones! We were 2 families travelling with 4 children ages 4 to 10 so we decided to buy the all-inclusive package from Tui to avoid hassle and it was the best option ever! Stefan Village has a very good restaurant with buffet service and a large variety of good food and even a buffet for the small ones! Our rooms were sparkling clean as they have cleaning service every day and along with towels changes. It's also 10 minutes walk from the beach and 15 minutes by car to Chania. During our stay had 2 heavy rainy days so we rented a minibus to visit also the south, which was the best thing to do to get rid of the rain, only 1 hour away we visited a cosy town called Kandanos with a huge sandy beach and excellent food!

Great service, great food and drinks (had the all inclusive package), good rooms too. Situated 5/10 mins away from the beach by walk, but honestly many don't leave except to see Chania. The buffet was spectacular, and the resort is beautiful. The service is top tier and immensely efficient. Shout out to Antonis at the bar who made our stay extra special.

+ Excellent place for a holiday with a small child - highly recommended for families with children up to 10-12 years old. Clean rooms, very good restaurant with quite diverse food and personnel always ready to help. Close to the seaside, but having also 5 swimming pools, plus one for the waterslides. We really enjoyed it and hopefully we'll return with both children some day. - Communication from the reception personnel should be improved. I really did not understand some of their actions/reactions. For example, they closed the playing ground at / before 8.30 PM, although the functioning hours, written of the fence, were 10-21, giving no explanation for that. It is very hard to explain to a 2 years old child that although I told her that after dinner we'll go playing, that's not possible. Also, before leaving we thought to remove the plastic bracelets that we received after checking in, so we went to the Reception desk to ask for a scissor. My little daughter wanted to take the piece of bracelet so my wife asked if it is possible. "No, you can't take it!" was the shouted response. I wonder why, since we could have left the premises with the bracelets on, no one asked while checking out to take our bracelets off. So it was quite an absurd reaction, directed towards a small child. We also asked for an extended check out, from the very beginning, knowing that the plane will take off late at night. One day before check out I asked if it is possible. The lady checked a list and said - No, it's not, not in the same room nor in other room. Since she checked a list I assume that some requests were granted a positive answer, so my question is what were the criteria for selecting some rooms over another. No explanation was given - of course. This really makes you feel like a second class guest. I have no problem to be considered a second class guest, but I think that at least I should know the criteria behind it, maybe I want to improve my status :) I did not have any conflict or discussion with any of the staff from there, I just felt quietly disappointed by their reactions. Better communicating their actions is for sure needed, I'm sure there is a rational explanation behind it - except for the bracelet thing, which was pure rudeness.

Enjoyed my stay here. Great pools, clean rooms, amazing breakfast. But be aware this place hosts a lot of families with kids! Edit: reducing by one star - unfortunately there are groups of drunk guests which can be quite quite annoying, not respecting other privat space. The lack of enforcement of rules by the hotel administration (e.g. it's forbidden to dive) doesn't help with this issue.

We are very happy with our stay. The staff was nice, approachable and polite. The place is very kid friendly, with several pools, all of varying depths. I think it was 30 cms in the kids pool, and 1,2 m and 1,4 m in the grownup pools. One kids pool has a small and a medium water-slide, and a playground next to it. We had a superior apartment with bedroom and living room. The room was of a very good standard, clean and seems quite new. There is a small kitchen, refrigerator, coffeemaker, and hot plates. If you have issues with stairs, know that the superior apartments and the ones with the private pools are above the ground level, and you will have to walk up stairs to get there. The ground level is trolley and stroller friendly, with ramps by almost all the stairs. We had chosen all-inclusive. It was a standard all-inclusive buffet. A nice variety of selections, fruit and cakes. I will be recommending this hotel for my friends and families with kids. We had arranged transfer from the airport to the hotel, and back again ourselves. The driver was waiting for us on arrival. We were picked up at the airport in a van with seats for the kids, and plenty room for the luggage. We were taken straight to the hotel. On departure the driver was waiting for us when we checked out, and we were taken straight to the airport. The travel agency charged more for transfer by bus than we paid for our transfer by taxi. We used Crete Lux Travel. Pending on your travel arranger there can be quite a large saving. We paid appr. 73-74 EUR total. All-inclusive was cheaper through the travel agent. At the time we were there all-inclusive cost 30 EUR pr adult pr day, and 15 EUR per child per day if bought at the hotel.

In general a good hotel, especially if you have kids, a good playground and pools for babies/ bigger children. The staff friendly, but when we had questions about the food ( we had all inclusive) they were insecure. The drinks and coffee included in the all inclusive package was very bad. Also if you pay for a coffee you expect at least a good cup of coffee, but it was very bad also. And the cup you get when you pay, is only half full.
