Castello Boutique Resort & Spa - I.Papatheodorou

This is not up to the standards one expects from small luxury hotels of the world. It's currently been run on a budget and unfortunately it does show i.e. from previous years visits it's really noticeable. It's no longer an adults only hotel; there is no turndown service; an iron can be provisioned on request but an ironing board is NOT available under any circumstances. Housekeeping struggle with staff numbers and room cleaning is emptying of bins and clean towels only. Amenities in ensuite bathrooms have been stripped down and there are none of the typical 5 star luxuries. Recognise a difficult year for all but Castelo are opening another 5 star hotel in Crete and suspect their money and focus is unfortunately elsewhere.

They are scammers ! We are absolutely furious about the way they treat their costumers ! We had booked 4 nights at the Castello Boutique Resort and Spa in Crete via the platform on the occasion of my birthday for a room with Jacuzzi. My husband had sent a message to the hotel the day before so that he could be informed of the circumstances of the reservation and that everything was in order. At the time of our arrival, the Jacuzzi was not working (it did not rise in temperature and remained constantly on 30°C). The next morning and after 15 hours, the Jacuzzi had increased only 1 degree Celsius... Faced with this disappointment, we decided to cancel the remaining nights in this hotel and asked Booking for a cancellation without fees given the malfunction and therefore the non-conformity of the room with the requested service. This request for cancellation without charge was refused by the hotel, who claimed that we had taken out a contract without the possibility of cancellation without charges. However, we pointed out that the contract stipulated the provision of a room with a Jacuzzi, but as the Jacuzzi was not working properly, the service was not in conformity. The hotel didn't want to know anything, even threatening to call the police, that we had to leave the hotel because we had cancelled our reservation and that we had nothing to do in the hotel. What I espected to be a special day (my birthday) became a nightmare ! Now we demand a refund of the unused nights for no-conformity of the contract of sale : the services we paid for were not delivered by the hotel!

Before booking this place I was not sure about the services and comfortability of the hotel, but after 10 days staying I can confess it was great and very enjoyable. Key points that every passenger should consider to book this hotel: 1. Very respectful, supportive, and helpful staff, reception, and employees. 2. There are a variety of different foods. Menu for breakfast and dinner included almost everything. 3. Cleanness of the rooms, corridors, garden areas, pool, bar, restaurant. 4. 24 hours reception. 5. Good coverage of the Wi-Fi internet in building and outside in the garden. 6. Good location in Sisi and close to the small market for walking in the night, beach and some restaurants. 7. By entering into the restaurant, there was a person to guide and follow you to your chosen table. 8. Some entertainment i.e. Live music and DJ programs during the week and night moments. 9. Since they forbade children , It is a very calm place for adults and young people to get sunbathing, using the pool and get relaxation without noise. 10. Having public pool and private pool for some rooms. Item needing to be improved and make betters: 1. Network of TV channels in the room was not mainly setting up well. Just a few channels working well and the rest were disconnected. Thank you very much to all staff and employees of Castello Boutique Resort & Spa hotel to make a wonderful moment for us in Crete. What a bunch of douchebags! Very rude staff and the place was falling apart! We love Greece and its people, but don't ruin your vacation by booking this hotel. The Spa in their name should be replaced with SADNESS!

Excellent hotel, nice location (2 mins to sea), incredibly helpful, caring, and friendly staff (esp at breakfast & dinner). Also since the public areas (restaurant, lobby, bar etc) are all widely opened, it is 100% covid-safe. Only setback: basically no variety in breakfast. Other than that, 100% recommended.

I am shocked of their dishonest and rude practices. Very bad experience, I wanted to cancel the upcoming nights due to a no conformity in the room I reserved, (malfunctioning jacuzzi) Thus I asked for a refound for the next nights. But they refused any refound and they threat me with calling the police as I was no longer part of their guests! Shame on them! How they've got 5 stars ??? Avoid!

Wow, what a wonderful vacation we had, from day one welcomed every day and greeted on leaving. Manager Ama what a star sorted all small issues within short period of times so professionally well done. Workers in restaurant so nice ,warm ,and friendly they always Smiling Reception porter walking around in real creek uniform. Wine and food very nice. Cleanliness 100 out of 100. Nice small fishing area nice shops location good ,car hire around the corner. Only good words. Thank you all yes all for giving us a great time hope to be back soon

If you are planning to stay in beautiful Sissi, the Castello Boutique & Spa is the perfect hotel for relaxation, comfort and incredibly polite and friendly staff. We spent two full weeks there and thoroughly enjoyed our holiday - from the excellent and healthy breakfast buffet selection to the lovely poolside setting with the historic church as a backdrop, from the generously sized suite with its very comfortable bed and superior bathroom to the convenience of the hotel's location. The Castello is just a 5-minute walk to "downtown" Sissi with its pretty harbour, great array of restaurants, pubs and bakeries. Outstanding, in our opinion, were the staff at Castello Boutique. In particular, I commend the Jessica and Khatuna on reception but also the breakfast service, bar staff and - honestly- in general, everyone we met there. Friendliness seems to be a very strong point in this hotel.
