★ ★ ★ ★ ★ December 28, 2019, we arrived at the entrance of Giraki Castle at 2:20 pm. Openning hours was till 4 pm, also written on the front door. Since the entrance was locked, we called the phone number provided on the front door. Despite several attempts, we failed to retrieve anyone.Such a way of working is, to put it mildly, unprofessional.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's not the Sistine chapel, but plenty of wonderful small Byzantine chapels to explore with frescoes inside and amazing views of the Taygetos mountains across the valley outside. Free entry, good visitor facilities.
