★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful beach. You can get a boat over to the island that used to be a leper colony. Jet skis and paddle boards available near the hotels but a nicer atmosphere near the car park area. Stone not sand water shoes recommended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The beach is located at the far end of Plaka and benefits from a good free car park. The beach is large pebbles with some wooden slats for access. The water here is normally gin clear
However, it can get very windy as the cliffs tend to funnel the wind into the bay, so choose your day accordingly.
Good for swimming and snorkelling, but the large stones are not very comfortable.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Clean pebble beach with clear water 80cm depth very close to shoreline. Priceless views of spingalonga and set against mountainous background (specifically the last beach on the far side of town). Sunbeds and parasols for hire at 10 euros a set. Swim shoes recommended as is entirely a stony beach and difficult to go in water without them

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the best beaches in south Rethymno. It can be very windy most of the time so better ask before visiting about the weather. Mainly sandy beach with some sections that are stoney. Sunbeds and umbrellas are available for free and for a fee according to the Cafe or Beach bar you choose. Kyma Cafe Restaurant has beach beds and umbrellas for free.
