Προσκαλούσε κάθε διαβάτη να ξαπλώσει σε ένα σιδερένιο κρεβάτι, γνωστό ως Προκρούστειος κλίνη. Αν το θύμα ήταν ψηλό κι εξείχε από το κρεβάτι, ο Προκρούστης έκοβε το περίσσιο τμήμα του σώματός του. Αντιθέτως, αν το θύμα ήταν πιο κοντό, τότε τραβούσε τα άκρα του μέχρι να φτάσουν στο μήκος του κρεβατιού. Ο Προκρούστης συνέχιζε την αιματηρή δράση του, μέχρι που τον συνάντησε ο Θησέας στο δρόμο του από την Τροιζήνα για την Αθήνα. Όντας πολύ δυνατός, κατάφερε να εξουδετερώσει τον Προκρούστη και να τον τοποθετήσει στο ίδιο του το κρεβάτι. Επειδή αποδείχθηκε μεγαλύτερος, ο Θησέας του έκοψε το κεφάλι και τα πόδια, που περίσσευαν. Τώρα η σπηλιά έχει πρόσβαση μέσω του δασικού δρόμου και μια ελαφριά αναρρίχηση εκτός δρόμου μέχρι το βουνό ψηλά όπου υπάρχει μια μικρή σπηλιά (όπου πιθανότατα φωλιάζουν και μικρά ζώα). In Greek mythology, Procrustes (or Polypimon) was a mythical robber of Athens. His limeri was in the area of Dafni in Chaidari. He invited every passerby to lie on an iron bed known as the Prokroustios bed. If the victim was tall and protruding from the bed, the Percussionist cut off the excess part of his body. Conversely, if the victim was shorter, then he was pulling his limbs until they reached the length of the bed. Prokroustis continued his bloody action, until Theseus met him on his way from Troizina to Athens. Being very strong, he managed to neutralize the Percussionist and place him on his own bed. As he grew older, Theseus cut off his head and legs, which were left over. Now the cave has access through the forest road and a slight off-road climb to the mountain high where there is a small cave (where small animals probably nest). The view is very beautiful. The day I climbed there were even traces of a small animal in the snow, from the roots of the hill to the cave. Those who climb, please do not leave garbage in the forest!
