Scam! Had to pay €250 extra for pick up. Couldn’t cancel as I prepaid part of the booking. Then upon return they charged me €75 to fill tank of gas. When I go back home, two weeks later I get a €1560 claim for damages!? Nothing happened to the car??? NEVER BOOK HERE!

If I could give zero stars I would. My husband and I booked a car via rental cars.com for a fiat 500 that was 75 euros for 5 days, plus 80 Euros to drop off in another airport. Our credit card includes very good car insurance coverage so we never add on additional insurance. As soon as we arrived the agent claimed that our insurance would not be good enough (I’ve been renting for over 10 years and never heard this from avis, enterprise, etc). When that failed, they said I could not use our shared credit card because it only has my name on the card although I had proof that it was a shared account. I told them to add me as a second driver and that should solve the payment issue and they said it would not, it needs to be under his name only. My husband only had his debit card and offered to use that. Now the story is they can’t accept his debit card unless we pay 263 euros for their insurance even though we had insurance coverage from the rental cars platform. They said it’s not adequate for a debit card use? I asked the agent then to make me the main driver to use my credit card and they said they can’t change the main driver lol I would need to call the third party. So I called rental cars and asked that they make a new reservation with me as the main driver and my credit card. Problem solved right? Apparently no. Now the agent claimed I needed an international driver permit in Europe to drive as I have an American license. I have been renting in Europe for years this was never required. Even though apparently it’s illegal for me to rent without one, magically it becomes legal if, guess what - I purchase their 263 euro insurance for a car we are renting for 75 euros. Give me a freaking break. We wasted 2 hrs in that office and the lady arguing and almost yelling at us in a condescending way. Sorry if all roads lead to having to pay for an over priced insurance when you already have coverage it’s a scam. The crazy part is that the same issue was happening with every customer that walked in there before and after us. Two Canadians came in and they made the same claim that they need a driving permit or pay 263 and suddenly they don’t need it. The guy called his embassy and they said they do not need a driving permit to rent! The agent still refused to give a car without the extra insurance for 263. My husband and I were finally fed up and went back to the airport. And guess what, we got a car for 200 euros for 5 days including the cost to drop off to another airport. Their additional insurance cost 35 euros and they were fine when we declined because I was able to use my credit card and be added as a driver for FREE with zero issues. Took 20 minutes to book and drive off. The rude agent at Centauro claimed no reputable company would rent to us in Greece LOL. You would have thought she had stocks in Centauro or was the CEO the way she argued with us. Yet a company with a huge desk INSIDE the Chania airport was a breeze and very helpful. Never ever use this company, and avoid this location at all costs.

Car, service and friendliness were excellent ! The location is some minutes from the airport by car so you should use their shuttle service. I would recommend not to wait for the shuttle as they say in their eMail but to call them and let them know that you are there. Don't be frustrated by their lengthy phone queue, they will pick up the phone after a minute. Overall highly recommended !

Quick and friendly service. The car was the latest model and in excellent condition. No delays or quibbling. I received the fuel deposit back immediately and was driven in the shuttle straight to the airport (5minutes away). I would use them again and recommend them.

I had a very good experience with Centauro. All the staff were professional and super friendly. Pick and drop off were quick and easy. Car was clean and ready to go. There is a bit of a push at the desk to sell you an upgraded vehicle and also buy the additional insurance and breakdown cover, but this is a fairly normal practice. Would be great if the pick up point at the airport was clearly sign posted.

Centauro were great. Picked us up from the airport quickly and gave is a decent car and added my partner as a driver. We gor full insurance for 9 days and it was reasonably priced. Return was also super easy! We booked through Booking.com but we will go direct next time as Booking.com sells you full coverage, but it isn't.. Centauro staff and car were great!

We rented a car for 9 days. Since we don't have a car we paid for the full insurance. The cost was low for the 9 days. We did it online. then we showed up early at the airport and a van to pick us up was dispatched immediately. Rental was quick and we weren't charged for the extra time. The car was a slight upgrade and performed well. The return was easy and quick, and the staff friendly. Good company.

They have cool new cars, the service is very friendly and professional. We had a problem with a car and it was solved quickly. Highly recommend, bad reviews as always come from people that don’t read rules… The bus driver from the airport to the office is a cool guy!
