★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had an amazing experience here yesterday. The owner did everything by himself (waiting, cooking, cleaning and conversing) and did it well.
The food was authentic, tasty and very affordable.
He even provided us with some extra sweet on the house and told us a bit about him and the restaurants story.
Would strongly recommend to anyone in heraklion looking for a good eat!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Truly, top of my favorite restaurants in Crete! We were so astonished with the interior of the local that we entered. And guess what? Dishes that we ordered were even greater that we expected after reading the opinions on Google! The owner helped us with choosing dishes, he was really kind ☺️ We ate everything to the last bite ❤️
I wish all best to the taverna and the owners! We encountered here Greek hospitality!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We visited this restaurant two days in a row during our holiday in september and it has been a special memory we will never forget. Mostly because the owner George really makes connection with his customers - and all of them love it. He is a very, very cool guy with humour, dedication, and - when it gets later - many deep stories. Moreover, he talks with love about his wife and children.
The food ("from my mom") is very delicious, everything home-made (although George is unpretentious about it) and unbelievable cheap... we never ate so much for that price. The desserts and raki are on the house.
As Dutch people, he was pleased to have us at his place and he told us many nice stories about the Netherlands. When you're in Heraklion, a visit to Chagiati can not be missed!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wonderful local family owned restaurant with delicious Cretan cuisine! We had a meal centred around meze plates, and it was fantastic! It’s close to the centre, but not amongst the busy noisy areas of Heraklion.
The restaurant has many vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Charming little family restaurant, must try mother’s prepared dolma (absolutely delicious stuffed grape leaves)! Closed on Sunday but will come back Monday for more food. Prices super affordable and atmosphere welcoming and authentic.
